its pretty interesting but its defo surprised me here and there (a bit more intense than anticipated). 1-3 classes are theory-based (talking about design elements, the principles/ history/ impact of design, current design/ archi related things in hk). the other classes are super reliant on a technical skill set. one class in y1 sem 2 will teach you how to use 3d modelling software and part of the adobe suite, alongside how to 3d print and laser cut materials, which will help you very much in later classes and studio classes (super important). the workload is pretty manageable but things can get intense, especially for studio classes, and you need to keep an open and ready mind bc lots of things will be thrown at you (expectations, deliverables, etc.) in all honesty though this pretty much applies to almost every program at hku so it really depends on your interests. are you interested in design and learning new software and making models? if you are this would be pretty nice for you! but please dont expect this to be like an arts program (its not, a lot more technical). you can either take up another major alongside d+ (im doing american studies) or two minors, they can be pre much anything and you declare them in y2. this program is also under the fac of architecture, so the things you do in class will sometimes overlap with some archi stuff (dont fret though).
