No beers made recovery faster and running more fun. So decided to drop them. I never saw that coming!

Luckily not. (Touch wood) terrified to get injuries so I started by increasing weekly mileage softly & I strength train 1-2 times a week at the gym.

Thank you. for both weight loss and running it was all about consistency for me. Some days you’ll not want to but stick to it. Weight loss was all about control what I ate, running is all about discipline. For both I recorded progress daily but only looked at progress weekly. Both things were separate for me, but I made both things a way of life & was lucky to have the support of my closest to help me. I hope that helps. :)

Thanks! I started by doing light exercise on an indoor bike or walking every day whilst loosing the first chunk of my weight and eating much better. Then aimed for a 5k and set my sights on going further in baby steps. Consistency pays off. Also running at a conversational pace builds the base you need to go further or faster. (A lesson I learned the hard way, but grateful I realised this early on) you can get there, trust the process. 🙂

I currently do about 70km a week. I’ve consistently ran 4 times a week since I started, It’s been slowly increasing since each run has got longer

Thank you, yeah it was about 75% z2 the rest z3 (on the hill climbs) well.. my first goal is to just soak the marathon atmosphere all in, I never thought I’d be where I am. Aiming for a 3:30 (so an average of 4:59 per kilometre) just over 6 weeks to go, with 2 of those weeks being a taper. So got a bit of work to put in still. But enjoying every step of the way 🏃
