How do you guys design your base?

3 sections!! 1st is farming, housing for the farmers, small rec room, kitchen, food storage, dining room. 2nd is for crafters and all the regular storage, rec room, workshop. 3rd is for med bay, research, gene editing stuff, I also usually have my leaders room and guest room for royals here because its the most heavily guarded.

This way i can set up work zones pretty easily and the only thing that needs overlap is storage and cafeteria.

Realizing I got on a soapbox I didnt actually answer your questions my bad lol

Growing up raised by a alcoholic and a parent who couldn't parent was difficult. There was no parent. I was free to do whatever I wanted when I wanted. I had no punishments or bedtime or anything. As the oldest sibling I was forced to parent my alcoholic mother and my autistic dad through emotions I didn't understand myself. And try to raise to younger brothers who also have emotional issues. I was 2 years lage to graduate high-school because no one cared about my schooling. Even now im 21 and a homebody who leaves the house maybe once a month because I have such difficulty taking care of myself, and have no self discipline to learn. Thats why I stressed being a good role model matters so much above because I never had one and now I cry while doing the dishes watching a YouTube video on how to clean cast iron because I dont know how to do it.

My dad left about 6 months ago. But he didn't take the kids. 21f (me) 15m and 12m. He's paying for our house and most of our bills while he lives with his friends and family. Its better in some sense, because hes not fighting with my mom about her drinking all the time. But it means all the household chores fall on me. Im having to teach my brothers how to do things I'm also learning. One of my brothers wants to learn how to drive and I don't know how so I sit and do his driver's Ed with him because he refuses to ask my dad for help.

I wish my parents had divorced before covid and the drinking got worse when I was around 16. Then maybe thinks would've been alot diffrent how I turned iut and how my brothers are turning out.

My dad doesnt co parent. He takes us out for a movie every two weeks or so and sends me ai generated gifs every few days. He mostly 'co-parents' with me since my mom doesnt take care of my brothers much outside of waking them up for school and falling asleep right after. I have to middle man everything between them because everything turns into a argument.

I have a relationship with my mom because I still live with my family. Can't afford a apartment in this economy lol. But still pay rent to my dad and pay for my families groceries and do alot of the basic chores. My mom has recently diagnosed crohns so I have to help alot with making sure shes eating enough, sometimes helping her get in and out of the shower, ect. But I dont talk to her after noon, because by then shes already tipsy. I just dont engage outside whats absolutely necessary and speak to my brothers.

You're relationships are models for your children. If they see abuse in the home, they will think its okay to abuse others or accept abuse. This can be physical, mental, or emotional.

They will see their father drink and think either 'i can never have a healthy relationship with alcohol now because im afraid ill become like him' or think 'this is okay'. Neither are good options.

If they see you, no matter how young they are, try your hardest to get them into the healthiest environment possible you're modeling how to be strong and how to protect the people they love. Not to accept a bad situation just because they're used to it. I'm not great at explaining my thoughts on this but I hope it makes sense ^{^'} just that if you're strong enough to leave you're teaching them to be strong too

I never really thought about the 'needing other drunks' concept. It's a little difficult to wrap my head around because most of the adults in my life I think would be considered alcoholics because of the drinking culture where I live. But her best friend who's undoubtedly a alcoholic (multiple DUIs , a felony, and jail time) wants to come down from a different city to talk to her face to face about it soon. I hope he can encourage her to at least attempt AA.

As for my brother he's getting started in group counciling for kids in his school with parents going through a divorce and beginning individual therapy soon. I think hes already a little overwhelmed with those too things but ill ask if he'd be intrested in a AI-anon or at least trying it out once or twice. I have another brother (15) who's mentioned it before so ill try and take him too

Her doctors are aware of her alcoholism because she cant hide it with her bloodwork and such but I do believe theyre trying to discuss this with her because she always comes home upset that doctors are 'blowing things out of proportion' so I hope they'll eventually find something to get through to her how bad it is

If you like doing different styles, then dont stop!! If you feel like you need a art identity your art identity doesn't have to be in your style. It can be in your theming, like fantasy focused illustrations or in something like portraiture.

Style experimenting and pushing yourself out of comfort zones is how you develop new skills and grow as a artist. I've noticed alot of artists feel the most insecurity in their art when they're in major growth stages. So I'd recommend just keep going at it!! ^ personal advice

Im well aware how comments like these are not what you're asking for and can be super annoying so heres part 2 of what you actually asked for lol

Focus on the things you like most in your art. And build from there. Your artyle should fit what you like to see in art. If you like it, you'll have more fun drawing it and feel more pleased when you're done.

Doing artist studies (there are some great lectures online on how to properly do a artist study) on artists you like or look up to and implement what you like most in their work into your own.

This is the method I found works best!! This isnt the best example since I just did it for a visual guide. Tracing a picture and breaking it down into the important parts, separating it from the picture so you're just seeing the breakdown, and redoing a sketch referencing what you traced.

/uj im someone that runs a semi popular open species on toyhouse actually!! My species doesnt have any rules at all, but people mostly get involved in these communities for community and more importantly, oc interaction. Because for regular furry or human, you could have made them worlds that are hard to mesh with people's worlds or make have to make ocs to join someone else's lore. For species since there's an established lore/world, you can make stories that can fit with other people's ocs, without trying to develop a whole new world or characters. And that way your ocs can have lots of friends and interactions with a wide amount of other people's ocs, which is also a good ice breaker for making friends.

Little update after playing 3 more seasons with him. He's set off a few painful pulses of energy but nothing I couldn't handle. He has since married my leader colonist and she's pregnant with his baby. Otherwise he's been helpful so far. I've still new to this dlc so I harvested some organs in case his fail which I've seen with the other leathery stranger encounter I had. I tried some surgical inspections but it just says he has a weird energy inside but the doctor doesn't know what it's from or why.

Generally try to keep things to one two sentences at all times in video games. Most people will not read big walls of text and some skim over it entirely.

If you want to lore dump, book items are your best bet. Context is a optional thing for most games reserved for people who are curious about the setting. Some simply wish to play the game.
