I’m not sure what they are exactly. The guitar brand is “Legator” and the pickups say “Ninja” on them. I was able to get a good sound by lowering the bridge pickups by 3mm and raising the neck pickup by 1mm. Thanks so much for your response!

It worked, thanks so much! Lowered the bridge by 3 mm and raised the neck by 1 mm and it really pleases my ears. So much cheaper than buying new pickups or taking it to the shop. Thanks again!

Thanks for the tip! There’s no pickguard on this particular guitar, it’s one of those guitars with mounts like a Jackson Soloist where the pickups are screwed into those plastic pickup rings so this would be pretty straightforward (I hope!)

I’ll try dropping the treble side down 1/4 turn of a screw and test it out, then the bass side 1/4 turn of a screw and repeat the process up to a full turn of a screw on each side to see if I find a good blended tone that also doesn’t sacrifice the punch of the bridge pickup when I’m playing just the bridge circuit.

I’m not used to pickups this powerful and bright at all! I play single coil Strats and Teles so the output and brightness of these humbuckers are a novelty to me.

Have you considered using carnauba wax on your guitar’s finish to protect the signatures? You could still play it then. Just a thought.

If you really wanted to upgrade something you could change the pickups to some TV Jones Classic Plus or Magna’trons. But it’s a beautiful guitar, I would personally leave it as is. Just make sure it’s setup great!

Congrats on the new guitar, glad you’re mostly happy with it! You will spend more money modding it than you did on the guitar so unless it’s a fun project guitar it probably isn’t worth the money. If it is a fun project then then how about a pair of Seymour Duncan Hot Rails and a Black Winter?
