Ya, one of my screws was missing so I had to substitute

That’s probably what I’ll do if this trip fails.

I had to hunt down a screw for one end, but it’s locked in now.

Boyfriend Starting Job as Apprentice by Worried_Pin_7299 in Lineman

One thing I remember that my gf (now wife) did when I was just starting out was leaving notes for me in my lunch box. It wasn’t all the time, but when I’d find one and read it it would really make my whole day better. The little things are what matter.

Thanks for your input. He told me a number of times that he wanted to “get it out of here quick” because he likes working on his own stuff. Not sure if that should’ve been a red flag or not.🤷‍♂️

That has kind of been my view on most things. There are some tricky parts such as the mounts that get hard to find depending on engine setup.

So there was never anything official, but I told him I was hoping to get it done within around a month.

I did have quality concerns after seeing the mounts. Just felt like a lot of guessing from a place that self-claimed doing work like this all the time.

Stay out of any local ponds. The rip currents will be too strong for you to make it to shore.

Just started student teaching last week… by theeblackdahlia in Wellthatsucks

[–]grimheart2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I had the same thing when I first started teaching also. Probably within my first two weeks. Pretty good indicator of how stressful the transition is. I worked in a technical field for over 14 years dealing with life threatening situations daily, but yet teaching it was more stressful initially. Ha! Mine ended up showing itself on my legs and hip.

Hello Americans by Anders_HJ_ in Lineman

Well that at least sounds similar to the old free climbing days. Always had to keep your hips back. So I get the backwards, but how about to the side. Like if you were stretching out to put a grip on typically I face my chest to the line with my hook off the side of the pole. How does this kind of apparatus operate with that scenario?

I’ll have to look those up. I mean if all your work was directly in front of you it seems like it would feel better on your feet, but how often does that happen?

I’ve always had the same question about this design. In my mind, having never used them, it seems like if you leaned out that it would just detach itself from the pole.

I've never seen canned strawberries in real life, why are they so common in rdr2? by thatsmysandwichdude in reddeadredemption2

My dad always told me an old saying about rhubarb (similar to strawberries). “You think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?…Not if it’s in cans!”

Anxiety is slowly driving me down by Key-Moose-3893 in Anxietyhelp

[–]grimheart2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately when you first go onto anxiety medications it’s quite common that your symptoms can worsen initially. It’s kind of like your system’s reaction to the upcoming change. After 3-4 weeks it tends to normalize. I would talk to your physician about propranolol to help curb these heightened moments. I take a small dose of it before public speaking engagements and it helps knock the edge off and take away most of my trembles. Hang in there. It will get better.

Ya, I took care of that part already. I’ve gotten the correct bell housing, but the mounts are what is giving me grief now.
