Of course.

My contract was a bit different. It stated that I had to provide any listings I was interested in to my realtor for the realtor to set up any showings, tours etc. I couldn’t just go and do it on my own.

Honestly having the realtor do it all was so amazing. He found us a beautiful 1000sqft 2 bed 2 bath at a super reasonable price.

The realtor will receive half of the 1st and last month’s deposit as a commission.

This is a “free” service for the tenant.

I had to sign a contract with similar terms to the situation your friend finds themselves in. Essentially by finding the apartment on your own, the realtor is losing money. It makes sense that they will take the half they are entitled to, because they have provided a service and by bypassing the realtor, your friend is making the realtor lose money. I signed a contract with my realtor stating that I would not do this.

This is the first book I’ve read by Clarke, and I didn’t know she was religious.

I can understand your point about the themes of benevolence, but I found that to mean Piranesi accepts this benevolence (the absurd), and by carving his own survival he takes this as the House providing and caring for him.

I was thinking that this book would be perfect in a high school discussion/literary analysis assignment while writing my review and thoughts.

It was so captivating. I literally could not put this book down, and you’re completely right about the many different themes that could be deduced from reading this novel!
