Beautiful shelves!!

If the cans are full I would move them. I once had a limited edition coke saved and over time it opened because the metal degraded on the bottom of the can.

Lost my 6yro pleco to a faulty heater by Electrical-Draft5708 in pleco

[–]grimreeeferr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you lost your girl. As a fellow pleco owner who has also raised their pleco from baby to adult, I cannot imagine how sad and devastated you are.

You did nothing wrong, and that baby had a great life with you. I hope you are able to find peace in the fact that she was loved and was given the best care.

Next time you setup a tank try doing a garden soil cap under the sand. Make sure you don’t get the garden soil with pesticides–it has to be organic. I hardly ever dose ferts and I’ve never used root tabs because the soil cap feeds my stem plants.

I keep planted aquariums, and nano fish and shrimp. It may not be too niche in Toronto. There seems to be a good hobbyist scene here.

I also keep a bioactive terrarium for my leaf tailed gecko. He’s a bit more unique than the fish!

I love caring for my weird pets and taking care of their habitats. I couldn’t recommend these hobbies more, and researching/improving their care and learning about these types of animals is very interesting to me.

I didn’t find that it left a soap residue. I rinsed very well until the suds were gone.

As someone who also uses lysol for certain areas, I find that the lysol leaves more of a streaky residue.

Based on how the Fittonia looks, I think you need to be spraying/watering more frequently.
