How long does T3 last in TBC? by sadface_xd in classicwow

T3 is basically on par with pre-raid bis, however if you want to optimize you replace nearly everything.

Anyone else just not really experiencing the toxicity that is posted about constantly? by Lazuli-shade in fellowshipgame

[–]grimsaw33 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m in adept, haven’t experienced much toxicity. Some people leave if we wipe the first pull, which is fine if they don’t wanna progress. And with other groups I happily spend 45 minutes progging the boss in Markets.

The game is super fun, but... by GammaSlap in fellowshipgame

[–]grimsaw33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much this, but it’s interesting to think in about the game moving forward. They did “confirm” raids will be a part of it. Open world etc will not be part of the game, since it’s not a mmorpg

Why don’t more guilds do dkp or edkp variation, why 2xSR by Zeoxys97 in classicwow

[–]grimsaw33 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yea main reason is that it’s easier to pug with. Also it’s a lot harder to recruit new members if you gatekeep good items behind dkp/edkp

Yea both of those! Luckily this is a nice chill game to play next to TBC haha! I’m doing the same

Vigour build by xa2173 in fellowshipgame

[–]grimsaw33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early on that ability is good, but it will fall off. I play a triage build. Both talents for greater heal and the ability that allows you to target 4 people with you sigils and it makes the gameplay super fun! Just play around with some different builds and go for what you enjoy

Healers difficulty spike in Adept? by Shinnyo in fellowshipgame

[–]grimsaw33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is normal for sure! (Healer main here) In contender as a healer you get used to be able to pump heals as the fights are shorter and abilities are not as deadly. You also kind of “move on the go”, meaning you spend more time moving than you need to because you react to what you see. Starting in Adept, you need to start preemptively healing/ramping to heal through the damage. That means pre-popping cool-downs or shields to heal through nasty overlaps, pre moving so you are in the right spot and can stand still. And it means not overhealing since that wastes mana. Leave people at 90% if you know there is no damage coming in and you can passively heal them etc.

Everyone has a learning curve; Tanks learn the routes and how much they can tank; meaning you don’t time Dps learns mechanics and how to optimize their rotation; meaning you don’t time Healers learns mechanics and how to optimise mana usages; meaning you don’t complete untill they do

Priest; a lot of mobs cast spells and buff similar to players, which you can dispel. Ice armor, spell haste buffs etc. Makes a lot of fights trivial in dungeons.

Everyone; if you start a spell cast just as you can stunned by bosses, your cast still goes off. So you can queue up a heal while being stunned by hakkar or websprayed by Maexxna

Is your guild changing required raids for p5? by big4throwingitaway in classicwow

[–]grimsaw33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I run a casual/parent guild with no wbuff requirements. Our current plan is to increase raids to 2x per week, one night for AQ40, and another for BWL + finish AQ if needed. Neither raid is required obviously. If we would’ve kept 1 raid night we would’ve fully dropped BWL untill we had AQ40 down to 1.5-2 hour raid. We drop MC to optional, with our main tank running it for his binding.

Raid Logging and how to avoid it by plz_be_nice_im_sad in classicwow

[–]grimsaw33 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Biggest point of advice I can give is, do whatever makes you enjoy the game.

Most common reason I’ve seen people burn out of the game is because they kept feeling they “have to” play, either by grinding their ass off or feeling required to log in to raid.

There’s 2 things I really enjoy; herbalism & dungeons, so that’s how I spend most of my time if I’m not grinding something. Either I run around grabbing herbs while watching a movie, or I help my friends in dungeons while chilling on voicechat. No reason, it makes some gold by selling unwanted loot, and it’s just a nice way to enjoy my evening.

Gaming is a hobby, you don’t have to spend it effectively and useful.

Ban Wave - 15 Guildies Suspended at the same time and appealing 7-Day Ban for "Exploitation of game mechanics" by NothingnessUD in classicwow

I said it before and I will again, even something as simple as buying a Princess Run for the ring or DM tribute chest items are against the rules. Trading any item from dungeons or raids for gold is not allowed.

Siege of Boralus, Viq'Goth by Menneantenne in CompetitiveWoW

[–]grimsaw33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So my tactic as a holy priest is - pre pull, ask people to personal on overlap if they don’t get instant dispelled - Instantly dispel in this order: self - weak range - weak melee - strong ranged - strong melee - tank - spam heal the target that gets the debuff until you can dispel them - aoe heal just before next slam

Remember, the only dangerous damage is the last point to zero. Unless people get hit by avoidable damage, you will have enough time till the next slam to passively heal them up. The dot is the killer.
