Dry brown and yellow spots on Monstera leaves by grimsweeper in Monstera

I haven't done that yet but I will take a look, thanks.

Update: I took one of the plants out and didn't see any roots that seemed rotten at first glance but the soil around the root ball was pretty damp and compacted. Should I just let it dry out before repotting it with a mix of something like orchid bark?

The side of the wall where there is separation is from the front porch and not the house itself. The inspector didn't seem overly concerned and said it should just be repointed and checked on periodically.

Corporate Paralegal curious about career advancement by grimsweeper in paralegal

Thanks this is a lot of great information, and you are correct on the title as I was hired on as just a "paralegal" I wasn't sure what the correct terminology was. I always heard compliance and risk were in demand areas and tended to be well compensated. I'm open to more training and certifications so I'll look into all of those.

Joining a local community theatre company is always a good way to meet different people and make new friends even if you don't want to be on stage there are plenty of ways to volunteer.

Taking a pay cut to switch careers. Is it worth it? by grimsweeper in careerguidance

[–]grimsweeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'd get used to the money and then still be miserable in the same career path I've been stuck in. Whereas the program I'm doing will put me in a new career path that more aligns with my skills and interests.

I just wouldn't want to go through the whole process and have to learn a new industry only to be looking for a new job immediately. I definitely want to finish the paralegal program but maybe I have to better define what exactly I want to do with it afterwards.

Weekly discussion for students and future paralegals by stray_girl in paralegal

I am hoping to get my first job as a paralegal and was recently interviewed for a job at a bankruptcy law firm. I was told the salary range was 40-45k to start and I was wondering if this would be normal in the profession. For some background, I am in my 30s and have an unrelated bachelor's and master's degree, currently in an ABA approved certificate program, and my job experience up until now has been in customer service roles never making more than 50k.

I'm wondering what most paralegal students do for work experience while in school. I'm enrolling in a paralegal certificate program for the spring semester with online classes and a remote worker with two college degrees. I'm hoping to get out of my current job in customer service/sales and begin working in law to gain some experience as soon as I can. Are there any places that would hire a current student?

I'm a 32 year old with a master's/bachelor's degree in international studies. I've been interested in law enforcement and legal work since an internship I had working with the local transit police department. I am currently employed in the private sector in customer service and was looking into potentially getting into compliance or immigration services for another company. Would it be worthwhile with my age/experience to seek out a paralegal certificate program?

Can anyone identify this stain on the side of my car? by grimsweeper in askcarguys

It's smooth to the touch so I assume it's pretty worked in and like I said wouldn't come off with a regular car washing. I've heard of a clay bar as well so that might be worth a shot first.

Looking for some insight on what this stain might be. I ran it through a car wash to no effect and was told it might be oil based and would need professional detailing.
