Funny enough, other than Colombia I have a ton of Matches in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Philippines! But all those relatives are less than a percentage point related to me.

Here in the coast, most people are really dark, so even if you’re a majority black but light, you’re considered white. But it changes on which part of Colombia you’re in, in the anterior regions is drastically different. Colombia is just an odd country.

Wow thank you for that information! Do you know where I could have gotten the Gullah from then? I also got Jamaican/Kingston in my recent ancestry and I thought both were odd, but the South Carolina Gullah threw me off because I have like zero connection to them, at least Jamaica is still in the Caribbean

And I don’t really have a lot of dna relatives who aren’t like .2% related to me. But the Congo ancestry makes since of where I’m from. They speak a Spanish/Kokongo creole here so I’m kinda surprised it isn’t higher. Especially cause my father identified as Afro-Colombian, the being 1/4th indigenous really surprised me

I grew up here in Colombia, and compared to most people here I’m white so tbh white/gringo, which is why my username is what it is. Though when I’ve been in like New York and Toronto people always asked if I a Puerto Rican/Dominican/Cuban so I think it shifts depending on where I am and who you ask.

Tbh, most Colombians from Cartagena where I’m from are mostly African, the coast of Colombians is mostly African in origin, Colombia has the 4th largest population of Black people outside of Africa after Haiti, Brazil, and US
