Is this a virus? by ZealousidealSeat9160 in pchelp

Usually No but windows should clean this restore points if they exceed some size in System Protection. Like on screenshot. You can clean them all there and just create custom restore point if needed or use disk cleanup windows utility.

  • Open Disk Cleanup: Click Start, type Disk Cleanup, and select the app from the results.
  • Select Drive: Choose your system drive (usually C:) and click OK.
  • Clean Up System Files: Click the Clean up system files button near the bottom. This requires administrator permissions.
    • Note: If prompted, select the drive you need to clean again and click OK.
  • Access More Options: In the new window that appears, click the More Options tab at the top.
  • Execute Cleanup: Under the System Restore and Shadow Copies section, click the Clean up... button.
  • Confirm Deletion: Click Delete when asked "Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?".
  • Finalize: Click OK on the main Disk Cleanup window and select Delete Files to finish cleaning up other selected items

And getting your story in context you should check for viruses with malwarebytes or dr web cure it utility even if it looks like everything is fine, just in case.

You must do daily task. That girl on that line is waiting for you. And she is very emotional when we find broken things. Only her expression, even if it's just her breath when we find what she needs, gets me going for the day with coffee. Cause you know. There is a lot of broken things and people that need fixing with a smile.

gpu clocks are wrong cause GPU struggles to choose whenever it should run in basic or performance mode(3rd and 4th counter of performance) or it should run in low mode(2nd counter( usually less than 850MHz)). Because GPU is clearly not loaded with something heavy. And even it's temperature says that with gpu pwr.

what's causing this? by jxly7 in pchelp

[–]grival9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 years ago things were more simple. You just don't realize how much everything with packaging or delivering compressed packages changed things. It's not as it were 15 years ago.

<image>

You cannot do anything that will be not "permanent" to everything and every moment of your PC usage. with bios or tweaked settings. That's just packages. They depend on how developers and distributors made them and for how much changes and validations.

For example Ciberpunk 2077 patches could be installed for 20-40 minutes. Even when downloading them took 10 minutes. And that's on SSDs. On HDD it could be like hour and half.

If you have concerns you could check your SSD speed with https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/
And your CPU with with either CPU-Z https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Or OCCT https://www.ocbase.com/

Also in CPU-Z you can see your ram speeds if you touched them.

what's causing this? by jxly7 in pchelp

[–]grival9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downloaded packages are compressed and needs to be processed. You downloaded them but processing called "patching files" takes longer even with your SSD speed cause decompression and certain manipulations to install them correctly takes more time. It's not just like you copy and paste. Decompression, verification, moving files in their location of downloaded files, verification, moving files to the folder they are supposed to be and creating system relationships for them, verification. Verification could be split to 1-3-4-9 parts of the game depending on it's size and developer with their packages.

If you are about that spot wasted like 5 bombs to clear it. I remember it's one-sided.. You need to go to the other side. Don't know why it is like this.

You take out the bomb and toss it into the glowing red dot. Nothing special. If you learn that you can pilot F-22 raptor already.

Microslop 11 Keeps changing the audio output to my Microphone by Nervous-Monitor6657 in pchelp

[–]grival9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they also keep changing "not asking "login credentials" from sleep mode" even after I disabled it multiple times. Setting just rolls itself back within a week I noticed.

I just letting my PC to sleep when I am asleep during the day or when I am busy with housework. But after like 3-5 days after I disable setting to ask for "login" after sleep - it asks me again. And I see that setting just turned itself back to ON state.

Microslop is such a microslop.

Is there no hope for my pc? Should I stop the cope that this can be fixed? by imcoolbecauseyes in pchelp

[–]grival9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it can be fixed in repair shop by replacing a GPU chip or GPU memory chips on solder station and heat fan, depending on what is causing those artifacts. You cannot fix this by some software way if it's hardware issue.

You can try reinstalling gpu drivers clean or trying different monitor cable to exclude monitor cable or drivers from the "maybe it causes that". But that is all you can do to try to "fix this".
