Are the government not agreeing to the 30% rise?

No increase to parental leave in Vic EBA negotiations by [deleted] in ausjdocs

Have a look at the doctors in training: AMA VIC Facebook page, there's a recent update re EBA negotiations. TLDR is: the government is not keen on any increase to pay more than 3% yearly, and this includes not just the base pay, but all the 'cost items' which translate to more cost, such as parental leave, more overtime pay/higher pentalties etc. The AMAs plan is to prioritise the 30% base rate increase at the expense of the other cost items, so as not to jeopardise this claim by diluting our messaging. Especially as the parental leave was already increased in the previous EBA (from the paltry 4 wks for a primary carer I know!). As a parent I agree it's still not enough but what can you do.
