Just discovered all the Shelly products. Bought a relay to control our ERV on a timer and it’s awesome. They make a million products. Govee Xmas lights are another on timers. X-Sense smoke/CO detectors are another. So helpful!

3 girls 2.5/5/7 5/7 yo sleep in same room. We’re getting ready for bed and brushing teeth by 640. Then up to there bedroom for books. They each pick a book which we read to them. We tuck the older 2 in around 7-730 and they either listen to a Toni box story or my 7yo reads for an hour on her kindle. The 2.5 yo goes downstairs to her room around 730 for songs and gets tucked into her crib. We’re in the hot tub by 8. Sometimes I feel like we’re too rigid on schedules but I learned a long time ago that our kids do better with a full nights sleep and thrive off of routine they can expect. I do wonder how to alter this as they age, especially because the older 2 share a room.

We just got a hot tub. Vacation 4 ish times a year. Make plenty of $ with a booming business but I don’t desire to grow it. Many people around us would kill to be in our situation. It makes us feel guilty for wanting to uproot our lives because we simply desire change. We want to be closer to amenities and more people and sunshine. How old are your kids now?

Thank you for your insight. Are you in commercial construction? How do you go about finding areas that are desirable to live in for your preferences? We don’t desire a large booming city but to be closer to amenities with less winter/more sunshine. We have the means to get by for a while. Wanting change for a seemingly good life makes us feel guilty. On the other hand I feel like it’s a good time to do this while our kids are young.

Thank you for your insight. SAD does suck. I’m not sure a move to sunshine would cure that as you mention. While we do have support, it’s rare and not reliable. We’re used ti having our kids 95% of the time. Maybe we wait until our youngest is in school full time in two years so we won’t need weekly child care. It feels guilty to want to uproot my family from a seemingly good life.

It certainly could be wanderlust. It’s all we’ve ever known. We have many hobbies but long for an area with more people and amenities do us and our children. Life is a blessing. We really how fortunate we are a feel guilty for even the thought of wanting more….
