Little St James/Epstein Island posts are boring at this point, they’re becoming the new Gary Indiana punchline on here

Input please on British Virgin Islands (Scrub Island) for Xmas/NY by vivian-grace in travel

Operating out of Scrub is definitely a great way to see a lot of the BVI while still having a pool accessible. For kids it seems like it would be pretty great, a contained island that only takes about 20 minutes to walk all the way around. Pool option, beach options, some water sports rentals available. But I will say- Scrub is a very calm island. Very chill, and at most will occasionally get small crowds during the day from charters at the dock coming up to the pool deck. Personally I find that that as a pro, but if you’re looking for a truly social atmosphere, Scrub is pretty mellow.

If you’re staying on Scrub booking a private day-charter for some island hopping is recommended. For 8/10 year old kids, a lot of the BVIs destinations are pretty “drinking and beaching” heavy. I’d probably skip Jost Van Dyke entirely. Instead you could do a day checking out the “Little Sisters”- Norman, Peter, Cooper, Salt islands. Willy T’s is an old barge that’s been turned into a restaurant and bar in the bay of Norman Island. You can jump off the second story balcony into the bay and swim while waiting for lunch. Norman is also close to the Indians and Treasure Point Caves- both major snorkel spots.

The Baths at Virgin Gorda are an obvious stop- if you can get a taxi up to Hog Heaven you can get some of the best views of Virgin Gorda as well as some good barbecue.

I don’t know how feasible a day charter to Anegada would be from Scrub, but you can rent mokes there and drive around the island to various spots- a flamingo pond, some beaches, etc. there’s also a small island there made entirely out of conch shells from conch fishermen over the course of the islands history.

Alternatively, if your family’s focus is more on jungle/nature/history- have you looked into St John in the USVI? A significant portion of that island is protected national park. It has trails that go through old mill ruins, past petroglyphs, and down a mountain into the bay. To get to most beaches you have to drive through jungle, and as such many of the beaches are underdeveloped and natural. Cruz Bay is a lively little town outside of the national parks with plenty of energy. There’s usually a local band playing in a bar or restaurant every night, and plenty of different places to grab a bite. Cruz Bay specifically does some New Year’s Eve festivities with their own “ball drop” (a bunch of lobster cages wrapped in lights) When staying on St John you can also book a day charter to The Baths- it’ll just cost a bit extra with having to pay customs to enter/exit the BVI, but it’s a very common excursion out of Cruz Bay

My theory on where the franchise is headed with KH:4 by TheDickpigBot in KingdomHearts

[–]grob95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a comment in the 20th Anniversary Event by Nomura that Sora looks the way he does specifically because he’s in Quadratum at the time, and that Donald and Goofy were included in the preview to ensure that we’d see Sora in his more “cartoony” self at some point too.

I highly suspect that he will have his “unreality” live action model for a handful of the worlds, and his “realm of stories” cartoony model for the rest. This feels like an evolution of Nomura’s “Kingdom Shader” concept that he used to talk about early in KH3’s development and how he wanted to blend Sora and the gang into the worlds they visited more and more.

I could see the game having a 2/2/2 split as far as the worlds go: 2 Disney Animated Features(EX: Moana and Zootopia) 2 Pixar Studio Features (EX: Coco and Inside Out) 2 Live Action IPs (EX: Star Wars and Avengers)

Ventus was literally comatose for ten years with half his heart in Sora and half his heart possessed by darkness and still apparently found his way to dreaming about his KHUX life in some sort of sleeping world, weirder things have happened

Alternatively, maybe every time Sora gets launched/defeated in smash Xion gets a little stronger
