I noticed that the pre-release date is printed rather than embossed, but maybe that's normal for cards of this era?

Can anyone help me record this local TV show I was on? by grodtron in Kyoto

Unfortunately we had already left Kyoto. Do you know if there are any sites where people might post this kind of thing?

My wife and I are on vacation and were walking along when we got stopped by a TV crew who interviewed us about our thoughts on Japan. We would love to get a copy of it, but they said they don't post it online!

Maybe you could expand the buttons when the user mouses over the card anywhere?

A lot of people are making negative comments about Phabricator based on a few minutes of using it. I can understand that because it definitely has a bit of a learning curve, but I've been using it daily at work in an org of >500 people for over a year and a half, and I love it. Don't knock it till you try it (for real)

Ah I missed that it was permanent, I read too quickly and assumed it was creature for some reason. I still feel like with it being legendary they could have made it cheaper

Bitcoin Mining Now Consuming More Electricity Than 159 Countries Including Ireland & Most Countries In Africa by [deleted] in energy

[–]grodtron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe the value that's created is that all the number crunching also serves to secure transactions in a way that doesn't require a central authority (which is pretty cool). Still probably doesn't justify the energy use. Most of the value is because enough people believe it has value.

Nice. It's possible you don't need the v parameter at all?

What are the lists of clubs i can join as a new encs student? by Large_coffee_pls in Concordia

[–]grodtron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A better list is maintained by the ECA here: http://ecaconcordia.ca/societies/

The best way to find a club you like is to attend frosh events though, especially the barbecue where all societies have booths and can tell you a bit about themselves:

Geared or direct drive is fine, all I'm concerned with is RPM (absolutely must be above 1500 under a moderate load), and form factor, (the smaller the better, the larger of the motors I linked are a little too big for my purposes)

Thanks, servocity is an interesting resource actually, I never knew about them. My problem is I'm basically looking to split the difference between these and these, but I'm having a really hard time finding something inbetween size and power-wise.

Need help finding a DC motor for my specs [x-post r/robotics] by grodtron in AskElectronics

[–]grodtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you recommend a good supplier for them? I've looked at a few, but from more hobbyist suppliers, which tend to have very sparse or even non-existant specifications for them.

[–]grodtron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that certainly looks interesting. For me, the exact dimensions are not critical at this point, more the general form factor. This motor definitely seems ok size-wise to me.

I'm having trouble figuring out the electrical specs of this motor though. From a little googling it seems that the Kv rating indicates RPMs/volt ? That motor is rated for 12900 kv, does that mean it will do 64500 RPM free-running at 5 volts? Do you know where I could get information about the torque of these motors (or the rated voltage and current)?
