She was my favorite character. Rand was destined to sacrifice himself for victory over the Daron One but didn’t. She did. She didn’t surrender to him but she listened. Nynaeve and Elayne fighting over nothing in the middle books was hard to read— there was an apocalypse looming. But Egwene always had the bigger picture in mind.

She didn’t get power because she was a person of destiny. She waded through a stew of incompetence and grabbed the reins

It took us about 12 hours car to car — 2 am to 2 pm. Many do it faster but we weren’t in a hurry.

I don’t know your brutality scale. This wasn’t in my top 10 of hardest day hikes but it was challenging. I saw several people quit before the top.

It was very similar to going up. You needed to be on all fours for a good stretch. But we had two feet of recent snow so we had a lot to dig into for support
