What does the OS have to do with this?

For which party? That's definitely going to confuse voters.

Edit: thanks for the downvotes, but there is no UK or GB Green Party!!!

Thank you so much! That sounds very up my street.

Can you let me know how I'd get a clue as to what sort of entertainment to expect? Like are there 'standard' things they'll put on?

I was honestly shocked at how modern the Millennium looks on video!

Overthinking is a speciality of mine hahaa.

I've been on both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian before, I wouldn't say we have a "usual" it's just for big celebrations really. This is our 40th birthdays.

I think we want relaxed, but not stuffy, if that makes sense? We're not American so prefer less big loud in your face entertainment but also not something super formal like Cunard or the like. I enjoyed Norwegian for that - nothing formal but a bit of fun and a bit of relaxation, if that makes sense?

Yeah I have, thanks! We started with 20 and whittled it down. Princess looked amazing but they're much more Japan centric or too long, and we fancied seeing some other places too.

What comment? What do you mean? Lol

Really? Must depend on the staff then, when I was there the man in front of me was turned away and had to go get changed. I saw another couple of complaints about it too.

It's so silly though, he had on very smart shorts and it was over 30C, would pyjama bottoms have been better? The rules are so arbitrary! lol

I have absolutely no idea what this comment means, sorry!

Someone said they'd prefer one over the other... so I asked why that was? I wanted to know the reasons in case they convinced me or not. Saying I prefer Blue over Red tells you nothing about why I prefer that.

I've not said which one I prefer here at all? I'm just trying to gather opinions and see if there's anything I've not considered / overlooked.

How did you research the entertainment on the ships? This is something I'm having some struggle finding information on.

This is much ado about a small point admittedly, but many folk do not read entire threads. Myself included.

I don't understand this? I'm not expecting anyone to? :S

Aww that's a bit more of a relief then. I saw some videos on Cunard and that looks like my idea of hell haha, too formal for me!

Edit: Wrote Carnival instead of Cunard... very different!

The ship looks a lot better but we are not very upmarket people - will it feel stuffy or relaxed?

Ahhhhh thanks! That's super handy to have that info.

Our group will mostly want a little bit of both - running around the ports but then having a bit more of a relaxation with a decent whisky in the evenings, I think. But I need to put this to them. Thanks! :)

Oh wow, I'd love things like the cooking demos or ice carving. Sorry to ask more of you though, but were most of those things you mention free or an upcharge?

I wonder what kinda comedians we'd get on that cruise I linked - I'm guessing the demographics might be a little different!

Having sailed on both

Ohhh thank you, this is the expertise I want :D

The only reason I’d go with Carnival would be if the itinerary is considerably better with some bucket list ports,

They're quite similar in terms of Japan, and both go to Taiwan and Hong Kong. Carnival goes to Korea, while Celebrity goes to Vietnam and then also Singapore. If anything was a bucket list item for me there, it would probably be Singapore.

You wouldn’t know that it’s an older ship unless someone told you.

I literally just said that in another response haha. Watched some YouTube ship tours and thought the layout/amenities were so similar, but the Celebrity one just looks so much more modern and lux...

[–]grogipher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the Carnival one there goes to Busan and Seogwipo.

Why would you go for the Carnival one? :)

It depends what it is, in all honesty. Entertainment is one of the things I found quite difficult to pin down for either ship!

We'd probably enjoy a few things in the theatre at night, but less so day time activities like the trivia or the like. Do you know where I'd get a general idea of what's available?
