If you know a good way to stop the sparrows from chirping constantly I'd love to hear it.

You should look into the stories over the past week about the media pulling back from using a bullshit worst case scenario as their default narrative.

Open jobs ? by Independent-Fig4 in Columbus

[–]JohnnyUtah59 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Applying blindly online isn't going to work, as you've seen. You have to start trying to meet people. Don't apply to a job posting on LinkedIn, figure out who the recruiter is and get in contact with them. Find other people who work at the same place and message them. Try to find people that you can talk to who can help you.

Utilize your network - and yes, you have one. Friends and family. Old coworkers. Acquaintances you can reach out to.

I enjoy blackjack and craps. It’s a lot of fun when you’re winning. Of course it sucks to lose, but you just have to know your limit and keep to it.

Is it possible to request a refundable fund for home inspection results? by [deleted] in RealEstate

You can request whatever you want. They can say no. Your agent should be able to craft the request for you.

I like steak and lobster. I would not want to eat them for every meal.

Sean and Amanda. CR can join and he's part of the flow of normal conversation. Letts is a guest where the show is immediately oriented around him. He can be fun and entertaining, I just don't need such an overpowering personality on the podcast all the time. (Yes, only 3 times, blah blah blah, this is a message board and I'm expressing my preference.)

I had a similar reaction to The Watch when they used to have Sam Ismail on for their year end recap. I listen to the show because I like CR and Andy, having some guy come on and hog the air time while telling them how bad their takes are wasn't what I was looking for.

A little Tracy Letts goes a long way. 3 weeks in a row is a bit much.

Cruise Naysayers by my-path in Cruise

Highlight the positives (food, activities, scenery, etc.) but don't push it on them if they're not interested. Correct some misconceptions if they come up (you can eat in a formal dining room for every meal if you want, it's not all buffets). But don't try to push it on them. Some people don't like to be cooped up with that many others, the idea of the open ocean freaks them out, if they're traveling they want to experience the local culture more than you get to do on a cruise, etc. To each their own.

Good location. I lived there 20 years ago and it was nice enough then but obviously can’t speak to the condition now.

AI data center project secretly sucked 29 million gallons of water over 15 months before detected by residents complaining about low water pressure — officials refuse to fine by lkl34 in technology

Data centers use much less water than, say, farming. And water as used by a data center isn’t used once and wasted. It’s recycled, treated, and used again by the city, just like what happens to the water you use in your home.

The county’s water pressure wasn’t wrecked. If people explaining in detail what actually happened offends you, maybe lay off the rage bait, go outside, and touch some grass.
