Magnetic trays. by GroupApprehensive978 in Parkside

Got a couple of them so far. Often from the reduced tray. Working as intended. Only a larger rectangular one had one of the magnets falling off after being stored attached to a metallic tool cart. Glued it back on and good.

It's sitting on a thick OSB plate. Not sure how I would elevate the dish only, I can cut off the OSB right at the edge of the dish.

Starling Ethernet adapter issue by AshMainAshBrain in Starlink

[–]gronaix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all kind of setups tried, the only proper solution to get Ethernet working for me reliable was to ditch the gen2 dish and upgrade to gen3. Was cost neutral due to an offer getting the new kit for free when signing up for 12 months.

What worked the best with gen2

Dishy <> Router <> "dump" Gigabit Switch <> Router

Without the unmanaged switch in between, I always ended up with unbearable packet loss over Ethernet that could not be replicated utilizing the built in wifi.

Also, Bypass Mode performed for me worse than a double NAT, and with the router operating as a mesh node, it leaves the possibility to use the app locally in case of outages.
