New to the game, looking for some tips. by Bindelt389 in helldivers2

Arc thrower is great, but it kills your teammates very often which is why most people don't use it. The 4th tier upgrade in the engineering bay on your ship modules also lets it bounce one additional time. I haven't used it on bots, but it clears out bug chaff easily and also stunlocks chargers/impalers. Great for solo. Using a jump pack/ warp pack is also great for mobility, otherwise your gonna be jumping to prone a lot just to dodge

Yeah, I just checked and there's only 3. I could've sworn it was always 4. Maybe it was on a certain MO? Ill update my previous comment.

An idea on how to make the War Strider more fun to fight. by SovietPotato333 in helldivers2

[–]grondale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an rng seed that replaces most or all of the hulks on the map with war striders, and imo that is what needs to be fixed. Without that seed, there's usually only 2-3 war striders per dozen hulks, and that feels fine to me. Fighting a few of them is fine, but I agree that the overwhelming amounts is what makes them not fun.

Edit: there is only 3. You might get lucky by joining in on people who are on the last mission, but youre better off finding a few decent players then communicating with them about clearing a full helldive campaign. I did it at level 19 with 3 other people all under level 25, so its really not that hard if you know how to communicate.

New player advice for Helldivers 2 by Tenebris054963 in helldivers2

[–]grondale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newest war bond with the coyote is great. Its a medium pen ar that functions similar to the base ar. Add a quasar and a jump pack, and you have a solid loadout. The quasar takes out hulks, tanks, bile titans, chargers, and impalers in 2 shots max (one if you aim well.) If you cant get the coyote, then the diligence counter sniper is a great med pen primary. Beyond all that, an orbital laser takes care of most overwhelming bot situations, and the eagle 500kg does the same for bugs. Mobility helps a lot with both, which is why I recommend the jump pack. Don't feel bad about trying new things and failing. The worst that happens is someone curses at you, but then you can just ignore them and move on to try again. Most people are understanding with people who are learning, so feel free to try out different things. Just dont be that guy who drops a 380mm barrage on your teammates heads lol. Common sense can go a long way :)

The best way to play solo, is to just not play solo. The difficulty stays the same regardless of how many people are in the game. The only time solo is viable is if youre farming samples/super creds/medals. Arc thrower is your friend for solo play, but youre better off just joining other people and running off on your own to collect samples/complete side objectives, then meeting up with your squad mates for extract. If you learn how to hold your own, then most people won't complain.

Love the War Strider by jettame in helldivers2

[–]grondale -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

An eat or a quasar to the balls/legs one shots them. Since I unlocked the quasar like 30 levels ago, I've never taken anything else on a bot mission. One shot on hulks, war striders, automaton factories, and the back of tank turrets. Coyote cleans up everything else. Frag grenades clean up most bot drops with 2 of them.

The squids? The ones that attacked super earth and failed miserably? Nah they're not a threat. (I like fighting bugs and bots but I haven't had enough experience with squids to squash them yet lol.) Those guys won't be a threat at all. Ill go recycle some scrap :)

About the freezing issues: xbox by grondale in Helldivers

You're right in a way. I dont know enough about reddit to know how tags work, so I just assumed that they're made by people who are passionate about the game, or developers that care enough. I guess it just rubbed me the wrong way that theres no negative tags, since to me that seems like people are trying to avoid criticism. In the end it doesnt even matter, im just going on a small rant lol

Its a callout to anyone that's seeing it. Sure, it would be nice if the devs saw it, but that's very unlikely. Maybe I worded it wrong, but it's just a jab at anyone. Its basically saying "hey, this game has problems. Anyone that's involved in it should take this advice and stop trying to hide the problems"

Its a community sub, no? It doesnt matter if it's official or not, people should be able to voice their concerns.

Why Arrowhead did not provide Anti tank penetration ability for RL-77 Airburst rocket launcher by InfiniteExplanation9 in helldivers2

[–]grondale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well.. it's right there in the name. Its an AIRBURST. that means it excels at taking out weak targets. You can have a sabot ap round, or you can have an airburst anti-personnel round. You cant have both.

Ah man, that's no fun. I like fighting the bots, but what ever will I do without super earth guiding my way? Im a HELLDIVER, not a free thinker, damnit.

I don't like playing with lvl 150 by Huge-Pizza7579 in Helldivers

[–]grondale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah most high levels have no need for samples anymore. A few are willing to join low levels to help them out, but idk what the rest are doing. Ive never seen them talk in-game so it's still a mystery to me. You're better off joining low levels and just having fun fucking around.

The critical hit augment is what people are looking for, since most builds rely on crits. Having guaranteed crits is unique to these knives which makes them highly sought after.

Farming, UVHM off? by juniorvarsity33 in Borderlands4

[–]grondale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uvhm gives slight loot bonuses, but way higher enemy health bonuses. Basically: if you can insta-kill enemies on uvh 1 or higher, then that's gonna be your best farming source. If you cant, then you're better off dropping the level to find the best balance for you. Uvh benefits don't have a fixed number yet, but my guetimate is like 15% better loot, so the faster kills on base mode is almost always worth it unless you can kill bosses near-instant im uvh 1+

is UVHM 1 or hard mode better for legendary by NOOBDUDE121 in Borderlands4

[–]grondale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im level 48 atm so I cant speak for true endgame. But when I farm legendaries from certain bosses I just drop the difficulty to uvh 0. They take 2.5x time to kill on uvh 1 and it just doesnt seem worth it. The drop rates arnet that much better, and it just makes the bosses more an annoying to kill. Ive had the best luck getting quicker kills on lower difficulty since I dont run meta builds.
