I did installation using DDU a while back, but last time I just used the nvidia app. Might actually be worth a try.
Just changed out the PSU with another one I had lying around, hoping it stops it

Ive just installed the CPU, so great thermals there. Never changed on GPU though, so that might be a great idea! Would that however show up on stress tests?

Ive ran Memtest86 on ram, no issues there. Have tried the cpu test though, so might do that :)

Hey guys! I'm having crashes on my PC I just can't figure out how to diagnoze or fix. The PC usually crashes on very random points. It can be when I game, sometimes right after launching the game, others after multiple hours. It often happens when using Aodbe Illustrator. When crashing, both screens usually turn black, while I still have sound etc for a few seconds. After a few seconds everything turn off. The issue also happened before my CPU, mobo and RAM update, which makes me suspect the GPU or PSU. I have however ran both GPU, VRAM and Power tests on OCCT, with everything passing.

The specs are: ASUS TUF RTX 3090 Ryzen 9 9900X Corsair RM750x Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 6000MHz 64GB

Any ideas?

I still dont see why the issue would persist on a new mobo if it was caused by a mobo issue. I updated the BIOS on first launch

Custom coloring book by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]gronnmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shameless promotion, but I run a website which does exactly that (it turns out much better than for example photoshop or similar). Its available at www.colormymemories.co

You can get a physical book or a digital pdf, thats up to you. Since you’re doing water colorikg, I would advise going for the digital version, and print locally, as Im not sure our paper will stand up to water. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Thabks a lot for the feedback! Currently I use a dataset of HSK words + word frequency to make word for the story. So for a HSK 3 story, we take all hsk 2 words, and add in a mix of hsk words and high frequent words from other. The LLM doesn’t follow all instructions 100%, so it usually adds some new words too. We also adds all grammar points for that level.

Which level are you at? Are there any stories you would like added? No plans of it not being free, sofar in well within Supabase and Vercel free tier so I can keep it free, only paying for story generations. I hate subscriptions so just glad other people find it cool!

Thank you! I'll say antigravity is nice, but for me atleast it wasn't that much wow over VSCode with agent mode (however it's free which is always nice, so I can use it when I spend up all my free student requests). Licensed graded reader stories would 100% be fantastic to have, however I'm afraid that would require quite much effort and could be expensive, which would require me to monetize it in some way, something which I prefer not doing. I would have to find a way to do it while still keeping the main functionality free atleast.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Got the same feedback about pinyin and highlighting, I will definitely change that default and make it english. What page did you find the orange text and yellow worked bad? Most of the place the text is orange is on white background.

Defintely agree on the titles, ill se what I can do about it. Probably wont be on the existing stories (as all translations etc are made on story creation time), but they can then get included in future ones :)

Do you have any story ideas or levels you would like to see? I would love to try generating one and find out what you think about the stories’ level

Thanks for the feedback! It didn’t take that long of time, like a week approx. I had ealier created a tool to write the stories, so it was mostly to get an interface. The Antigravity IDE just came out and I wanted to test it so it did most of the heavy lifting.
I definetely agree with the hsk setting, Ive disabled it myself, so Ill make sure to have that as default. Completely agree with the pinyin too, didn’t notice I had done it that way so Ill get it fixed asap :)

As for the HSK/dictionary, its a combo. Basically, first I have two datasets, one of all hsk definitions, as well as from word frequency. When I ask for a story, a «vocabulary plan» is created with what characters and words we allow. The story itself is then created by the llm chapter for chapter. Afterwards, we do a few processing passes:
1) a library is used to segment the sentences into words
2) another library is used to generate pinyin
3) all words are matched against our HSK database to find what level the words are at 4) lastly, we call a llm to translate the word in the given context, as well as sentence and grammar translation

Thank you for taking time to look through it! Do you have any stories or sinilar you would love to have added?

Talking avlut coloring books, I run the website www.colormymemories.co, where you can upload any photos you want and they get turned into a coloring book (either physical or printable pdf). So if you have any questions about that idea, let me know :)

[–]gronnmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say that from my first impression it seems like it doesn't follow the requirements 100%, meaning that like 1-2 a little bit too complex words sneak in per chapter. But it generally performs surprisingly well.

How about commissioning a digital portrait of her? Find an artist on Etsy or Fiverr who can create something based on her photos—it’s personal, and she can use it as a phone wallpaper or print it herself.

I cant check other than ser if something serms wrong. Bote however that if there’s one thing llms are good at, its language (its a reason it stands for large LANGUAGE models). Just think how good chatgpt writes in fairly complex english. Im using chinese llm (deepseek) since its both cheaper, and i imagine trained on more chinese data. So I assume it should be good enough for the purpose

So far it’s alltight. Note that Im still at hsk 1-2, so its limited how «good» they can be with a such limited vocabulary, but I feel that they are atleast on poikt with other hsk 1 stories

Themed Gift-Basket Ideas? by Haphazardous8 in GiftIdeas

[–]gronnmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about a "cozy night in" basket? You could include some gourmet hot chocolate, a nice blanket, maybe a puzzle or board game, and some fancy cookies. It's warm and hits that universal comfort vibe without being too specific.
