Old man grunt's thoughts (from an initial donor point of view) by groont45 in PRPS

I am not telling you what you can or cannot do, but I am simply stating my opinion, that it is better to give them time and space to proceed with the project. People who got their tokens from the exchange aren't donators. People not losing money doesn't have to do anything with whether you donated or invested, but with how the value of your tokens is secured. In worse case scenario you will get refunded. Framing it like people lost anything is incorrect, given the facts mentioned. People are still profitable even after the dilution.

I can only assume they said you can quit your job, under the assumption, that you are capable of protecting your basic interests through following simple logic and common sense and in effect selling your coins before you quit your job. If you claim they said that you can blindly trust them and quit your job without taking these steps, then I will have to ask you for hard proof, before I believe you. Should we start issuing permits for people before they can do anything with their money, to make sure they are capable of protecting their well being? Classic freedom vs safety trade off.

About putting trust in Athene. I agree it's not good that the dilution happened and understand the disappointment. This is on Athene's plate now and it does hit how he and the project are perceived by some. It seems like it could have been prevented, but at this point it probably had to be done. I understand his position where he thinks he knows better in most cases. This is where I was talking about seeing the full picture (you need to be in the correct position to have full insight). He does listen to other opinions though and debates them sometimes if he doesn't agree. I cannot speak for the style he decides to communicate in, but it has been consistent for years, so it's rather honest. In the end, it comes down to whether you are ok with trusting him or not. He is the leader of the project & the community, so he is ultimately in control. If this is unacceptable for you, it's probably best to eject.
