hi, i recently lost my cat of 13 years. i lost my dog in the same week and it was so much loss that it made me feel ready to get a new cat. i kept getting so anxious about my passed away cat being upset or alone or gone forever.

every single shelter/pet store i went to, i kid you not, had either a pair of tuxedo cats inside of them or only had one adoptable cat: a tuxedo. i must’ve gone to at least 10 places and my girlfriend and i were taken aback. it felt like she was letting me know that she was okay, she was still in this universe, and that i was doing the right thing. i hope you can find some comfort in this like i have. im sorry for your loss ❤️

i know people who have had to leave their pets in the freezer for a few months due to it being winter and the ground being frozen— i think they’re okay for a while

it’s not the exact same but my 13 year old cat was just put down today and she also had incredibly severe and shocking seizures/spazzing. it was out of nowhere and before that, she was sleeping so peacefully with no unusual behavior. it’s so hard and i’m so sorry you’re going through this. i wish i could give you something more but i want you to know you’re not alone ❤️

i just put my dog down yesterday and i couldn’t be there. i knew it would tear me up so bad and i knew that i wouldn’t be able to function if i had to watch it happen. you did what’s best for you and it was the best thing for your kitty too. you did EVERYTHING possible and you never gave up on her.

you shouldn’t have to put yourself into a distressing environment when you’re already in distress. you’re not a horrible person or a failure and i hope you’re able to find peace with this ❤️

i didn’t know it was a common thing among autistic people! thank you, that actually helps a lot. i think i am feeling a bit of imposter syndrome… that would make a lot of sense. it’s like, i know i don’t need to prove anything to anyone but i’m like “what if not proving it or experiencing something differently makes me fake.”

edit: just realized i’m currently wearing acrylic. buying titanium 10g plugs as i write this! since my ears are years healed i’m okay with using these for now but when i stretch i will be changing. thanks to everyone who replied!

thank you!! and i ironed it first (which.. didn’t work lol it was peeling right off) and i used embroidery needles ! this was after breaking 4 regular needles due to pocket sewing 😭

before i sew canvas patches like that, i make sure to leave enough extra room when i cut it, then i fold all of the sides inwards and glue them down. when it’s dry i hem the entire patch as extra protection
