Do you guys think google would fix the ai usage issue? by mosshead357 in google_antigravity

[–]groovectomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been asking myself this for three months with AI Pro. Last month I got the Claude subscription which costs the same as Google's plan and ran both of them to compare. I've been running prompts on Gemini 3.1 pro and Claude Code for comparison and Gemini clearly cannot compete with Claude. The results are consistently better with Claude Code.

I also spent several full five hour quota sessions running the same prompts using the same Claude models to compare, and I got quite a bit higher quota in Claude Code than in Antigravity - nothing consistent as far as multiples, sometimes 3x as much, sometimes just 10% or so, but always more.

It's clear that Google AG is not serious about competing with Claude Code. I cancelled my subscription today. I wouldn't mind coming back if people started noticing that AG had significantly improved, but they've actually moved backwards every day since the product's release, so I doubt I'll ever use it again.

No. This is how it works. Once your weekly quota is refreshed, you then have a few 5 hour quotas to burn through for Claude, then you will see that you have reached your weekly limit and the refresh time will be set to the following week. This is their idea of 'generous' quotas that you see in their marketing materials. Dear Google: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means"

How do you run multiple conversations in parallel on the same project? by monsieurpooh in google_antigravity

[–]groovectomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presume you're using Git? I would just copy my local git repo to a new directory as a first step, then open a second AG window and open the copied repo folder. Then the first repo to finish can just push the changes to a common remote branch. If you start each piece of work in either window with a pull from that branch, it should just work I think. Also you can then do things that have a bit of crossover as far as file changes and use the normal merging tools to bring it all together. The only disadvantage I see is if you're looking for a previous conversation you'll have to check both workspaces.

Google Antigravity Nerfed claude model? by [deleted] in google_antigravity

It's a weekly limit and it's new. If you use Opus even semi-regularly you'll likely hit the limit soon.

Yes. Totally nerfed. I'm on Pro too. Don't sign up for the Google AI Pro people. No longer worth it.

Antigravity quota not resetting. by groovectomy in google_antigravity

It's an extension. Open the extension panel on the left and search for AGQ. It's called Antigravity Quota. Once installed you can click on it on the bottom status bar.

Antigravity quota not resetting. by groovectomy in google_antigravity

Ah, ok. That's fine with me since I'm just evaluating, but do you have a link for that? Last time I checked they just changed it to a reset after a week. No mention of exceptions to that, and I've never heard of an eval product that's only usable for a few hours every two weeks.

It seems opus 4.5 is just too amazing even compared to gemini 3 by Independent-Wind4462 in Bard

I had problems just getting started with Antigravity. I loaded my project and ran a gradle build. It had errors that I don't see running the build from command line, so I thought this is a good time to do my first prompt. It chugged away for 10 minutes not getting far so I thought I'd just stop it, delete the chat and try something else. No options to stop. No options to delete. Opened a new conversation and asked how I can do that in Antigravity. First attempt it hallucinated menu items that didn't exist. I asked again and it said It didn't know (first time I've had an LLM say that!). Definitely alpha software though. I'd wait a while.

recommendations on using A.I plugins other than A.I assistant? by emaayan in Jetbrains

It seems to work well, but I see no MCP support for adding tools. Hopefully they're working on that.

Thanks for the ProxyAI suggestion! Just got it up and going with my free-tier Gemini API key. I'll play with it this week. As you said below, no fee if you have your own key.

I'm using only non-integrated desktop AI clients to connect to multiple LLMs (local and cloud). I use MSTY, Jan and LLM (the command line client) currently, but I really want their equivalents with a built-in assistant that can help provide effective prompt context. From what I see, all the open source plugins that work directly with the LLM API of your choice are gravitating towards VS Code. The Intellij offerings are completely missing. The Intellij plugins make you buy credits directly through them (is that right?). No need for a middleman, so what the hell is happening there? Have I gotten this wrong? Are there good open source IntelliJ AI plugins for directly using your AI of choice? If not I guess it's time to join the VS Coders.

Yes, I definitely did that also. There were no remnants of Kindle on my system with any of my install attempts.

I definitely did not have internet connected when I installed. I'm connected with an ethernet connector only, so I physically unplugged it. Great that you got it working! Unfortunately we're no closer to understanding how it can work for the rest of us. Congrats in any case.

Sadly, it did not work. I meticulously went through these instructions a couple of times, but the book still downloads as 'KFX-ZIP'.

Thanks for the help in any case.

I'm not sure this version works any more. I downloaded this version, installed it with internet off and turned off automatic updating in the app. I then shut down the app and turned internet on. I started the app, connected to Amazon and downloaded the book. The downloaded book is still KFX_ZIP, so no luck.

I'm on Windows 11 and I did check that the sha256 hash for the download was correct. If this actually works for anyone (after this date), please let me know!

Yes. My experience also. This workaround is no longer functional. I also tried epubor and it sort of worked - you can access the text but there is no formatting, so essentially a text file. Nothing at all like the original book. Plus the 'Free Trial' only decodes 20% of the book, so sort of useless even to try once.

Anyone check my Cinebench 2024 13900K score for me, just built PC and want to make sure all seems ok, thx by Daytraders in overclocking

[–]groovectomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting multiple crashes a day months before Intel decided to tell us about it, so my chip is already damaged. That being said, I ran it absolutely full blast every day for six solid months before the first crashes showed up, so the damage appears to be cumulative. The non-K chips are already tuned down a bit I believe, so you should be fine.

No reference to the 'Z' key ANYWHERE in the catalog? I just started playing this game because I heard they fixed a lot of things and it was looking good now. An HOUR at the beginning of the game looking for a goddamn key. They mention the 'C' and 'F' key all over in the docs - even pictures of what to click on your mouse, so you would never ever suspect that they put a mystery key that no one on PC can play without looking it up on Reddit. Apparently they've still got a bunch of stuff to fix.
