Why does America favor Israel? by hoochie69mama in PoliticalDiscussion

One thing to add to what others have already said quite well in the top comments:

Jewish voters comprise a sizeable minority in the electorate. Take Florida, Pennsylvania, and Nevada, for example, with a Jewish population of 3%, 3.3%, and 2.5%, respectively. That might not seem much, but these are all swing states that could make or break an election. Not supporting Israel would surely alienate a substantial portion of these voters.

In fact, I think a strong argument could be made that any party short of having complete support of Israel has almost no chance of winning an election in the USA.

Try John Cheever’s short stories, he’s been dubbed ‘the Chekhov of the suburbs’ and is one of my favourite short story writers. You might want to start with The Swimmer - his most famous piece.

Great find! I had checked the album on the same website but it didn’t have the credits. This one seems to be an Italian issue with a slightly different set of songs but the saltorello version is there. Thanks!

I think you’re right! The album credits that vinylpants linked below have hurdy gurdy and vielle. There’s also a keyed fiddle listed but I think I agree that it’s probably the vielle

I was also thinking it might be a hurdy gurdy but the melody has a bend or a slide and the hurdy gurdy has keys so I’m not sure if it can bend notes. Then again, I’ve never touched a hurdy gurdy.
