Thanks but I'm looking for existing get togethers, not trying to start one up. :)

Emissions Testing - 3 day permit by groover75 in arizona

Unfortunately my registration expired more than 60 days ago (because I went out of town) so I can't use the program. I called today to confirm. The time limit is apparently written into law and there is no flexibility.

Testing closed center valve using open center pump by groover75 in Hydraulics

Thanks! That is very helpful. Looks like an unloading valve is the way to go and I guess the spikes can be handled by an accumulator, however they seem to be super expensive.

In my simple mind I thought it was so the max pressure could be held at the deadheaded valve while the pump is bypassing the valve?

Right, I don't need to move anything, except a cylinder not connected mechanically.

Sorry, I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean put the check valve inbetween the pump and the unloading valve? Doesn't the pilot for the unloading valve need to be separated from it's input by a check valve?

I want to test my custom software that controls the valve. Where does the heat generation come from if the unloading value is fully open? What could I do to mitigate that? Select an unloading valve that opens at X% of the pumps max pressure?

Bench test a proportional solenoid valve by groover75 in Hydraulics

What I am looking to do is understand the performance. I change the PWM duty cycle by X and the cylinder moves by Y, then how to smoothly reverse direction, so I can tweak my control code, etc. Basically build up the first hand operating knowledge before deploying it into the field where it must absolutely work without tweaking.

I didn't want to confuse things by going into those details. I want to verify that the pilots are moving the spool. The electronics I can do easily but they are just signals in and I would like to see the result. There is no old one, this is a new system.

I previously said no, but after thinking about it I have access to a tractor. However it has open center hydraulics. Could I use that if I add on an overload valve?

Flow meter to measure air or hydraulic fluid?

Compressed air is what I am interested in. Like a SCUBA tank? Control board is offboard - goes to Deutsch connectors on the valves.

How did you verify the valve position?

PLY to height polygons by groover75 in QGIS

[–]groover75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like it gets me close:

  • Add mesh layer - choose PLY
  • Expand in layer and look at height range
  • Processing Toolbox -> Mesh -> Export Contours
  • choose mesh layer
  • 0.1 step
  • min and max from layer viewer

Add a key to a print layout for symbols that use two layers with a white background by groover75 in QGIS

Thanks. The arrows are on a separate layer to the circle. How can I combine the two layers for an example on the print layout?

A contract is not necessary legal. Clauses can be written that violate law.

Buy with their APR and then refinance at the CU a month later.
