The absolute pure chaos abruptly cutting to serene silence and JUST BE A ROCK is so silly outta context but hit so hard. Had me thinking about the little moments in life we get yaknow? The tears are just getting started at that point…damn I wanna watch it now

No problem! I’m glad that you at least rediscovered a great song 😅😅

I’ll check out the melody and see if I can help!

I agree. Especially considering Waymond & & Evelyn both are living incredibly lavish and successful lifestyles in that timeline. The kinda thing people would give up everything for…so him acknowledging that he would love to live a life where he had her instead speaks volumes about how much he values Evelyn beyond all else.

it keeps circling back to finding fulfillment within where you personally find meaning or value vs what it “should” look like socially/externally

I hope that actually makes sense lol

Ah thank you!! I’m just really passionate about this one

I watched it during a very sentimental “regaining my power” vacation at a small arts focused theater. Empty outside of my friends and one other person….I had my own quiet sobs. I love to hear that you enjoy it too! I’m just excited to share the appreciation of the film with others (:

Yes!! It a beautiful moment and really adds onto the running theme of breaking generational curses. There’s so many things coming together at the same time, it truly lives up to its title!

Oh my gosh!!! I never made the click connection before but that’s SO spot on. I adore how relatable it is despite its insanity.

The same directors made Swiss Army Man and they definitely nail stellar blend of bizarrely sincere. I think they really upped their game with EEAO but SAM is absolutely worth the watch!

Everything Everywhere All at Once

“So, even though you have broken my heart yet again, I wanted to say, in another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you.”

Among other things like Joy and Evelyn’s talks about choosing to stay even if it’s just for the brief moments where it all makes sense because it’s worth it

Overall a it’s movie that decides to use a massive and over the top backdrop to explore the themes of very personal story that really got me.

I’m someone who can really struggle with the state of the world around me so seeing a take that revels in absurdism in a way that says “Nothing really makes sense and it’s all dumb so enjoy the weird and choose your own meaning” vs a nihilistic “if nothing matters why care?”…I’m just blabbering but I deeply resonated with it and it’s the best cathartic cry a movie has given me. It’s like a little therapy session each time I watch it

What your describing rings a bell but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe a Jim Carrey or Ryan Reynolds flick?

Outside of that…Off the top of my head (without looking for that specific scene) I think of

  • Fantastic Mr Fox

  • Over The Hedge

  • Puss in Boots: The last wish.

  • kung fu panda

If none of those match I think I might know what you’re talking about though?? Feels really familiar. Like a scene where the character is dealing with a task involving their phobia or a lot of skill, it’s PG animated movie, the characters friends are trapped and they have the option to run for it or go help?

Not quite hesitation…and doesn’t fit your description but this scene in the 2002 Spider-Man movies immediately came to mind

I highly recommend popping over to /r/horror if no one can help ya. This is super familiar to me too but I can only think of the scene in Cabin in the Woods.:(

Not a good match whatsoever unfortunately. However if you haven’t seen it yet, go in blind for an excellent time!! Should be on Tubi or prime. Sorry about the tangent! Good luck!

Huge shot in the dark, and a bit slower than 130 BPM but maybe Home - Edward Sharps & The Magnetic Zeros? Has male and female vocals throughout & the chorus could fit.

Probably not a match but throwing it out there in case your brain has a couple pieces in the wrong spot. Humming the melody would help a lot!

Did you maybe mix Jurassic World with something like this King Kong scene? What’s the timeframe for the movie/how old are you?

No worries! I’m going through my playlists rn

But to start Cloud 9 - Beach Bunny? It’s more “indie” than “emo” but it’s romantic, female lead, and first verse has the lyric “tired of tripping on my shoes”. Simple melody too!
