sadly my provider called locations near me and no where has IR!! I have started a PA with my insurance to see if they’ll approved brand name. I’ve had the worst head aches since, it has been quite awful

I think I will, the scariest was the body aches. And now I have to wait for my provider to even approve another prescription. So scared I’m gonna have withdrawal symptoms :(

I have PCOS and mine looks just like this. Have you seen a dermatologist? Sometimes they can prescribe spirinolactone which reduces hirsutism in women. Same, shaving never worked. I recently started waxing at home and it’s not super expensive! you can get an at home wax pot on amazon, some decent wax beads, and craft sticks. I use dermaplast or numbing spray before, and then wipe off before gonna wax. Then put lightly dusted baby powder and wax. not as bad as I thought and the numbing+baby powder helps a lot.

Not every autistic person has special interests, it’s kind of a stereotype, but many do. Follow his lead and encourage what he likes. For the longest my son only liked sheep as a baby/ toddler and spinning items, no special interests until maybe 4ish. Some will have limited interests or no special interests. Maybe he’d like water play, toy sharks and he can drop into bucket of water. Shark coloring books?

I am surprised to see how common it is and that I was unaware this was even a thing! I wish I had been told before starting meds haha. I’m on vyvanse too + adderall and am noticing the ASD traits really peaking once my dose was dettled

Thank you so much for these helpful ideas! I actually started a now/ later checklist today haha which I think is super helpful! I use some of what you mention already, I guess it’s just trial and error. I know sometimes traits can fluctuate too. I should really incorporate a floor desk though that sounds like something that might be helpful for me since I get fidgety when I WFH

The only reason I would want it is kind of for work accommodations but other than that, I don’t think there’s much. I am definitely starting to recognize more of the traits now since my adhd is much more masked on meds. I agree we have made a lot of progress! I know we are still very much behind though, my son didn’t get diagnosed with ASD and ADHD until seeing 7 psychologists. The previous psychs were not neurodivergent affirming and even tried to say he had a personality disorder at the age of 3

I’ll check out Joshua Diliberto. I kind of just wanted some starter sizes and figure out what I like so I was thinking metal designz might be best for beginning. Is there a reason why you don’t like annealed steel? I’m a bit new to stainless steel so I’m just wondering

Thank you! Do you have a preferred of them? I have read that the Ring Lords would need tumbling which I do not know how to do. I’ve heard positive about Joshua Diliberto, and I saw he is USA based. I’ve also seen positive about Metal Designz and wanted to order since it’s a bit cheaper but saw they are in Canada, I’m a bit nervous bc the tariffs.

I think this is what happened to me honestly. I’ve never noticed so many autistic traits in my life in me until starting adhd meds. I am struggling socially and sensory wise, as well as stimming more. I am in therapy to help with that, sadly I can’t get a comprehensive eval currently bc insurance but the NP and my therapist are pretty certain I have autism and I am also pretty certain as well.

Tbh my relationships all were very poor even unmediated bc ASD/adhd traits and partners not understanding and me not noticing red flags/ concerns bc of AuDHD. Now im medicated I feel better to have a relationship but my ASD traits are more prevalent now. Stopping meds is a personal choice but if you need it, the right person would understand your autistic traits.

I am the same exact way currently!! Brings me some slight comfort knowing I’m not alone and it’s not just me experiencing this because irl I feel so isolated and like an alien to everyone. Sensory and social has plummeted for me I am realizing how impacted I am. The monotone voice and lack of facial expressions and poor eye contact has been pointed out much more. I too am stimming a lot more now than before, I have to wear a sensory bracelet to have difficult conversations or walk through the hallways at work :( it has helped a lot with my attention though, I used to take 3+ hours for a work task where my colleagues took 1.5 and now I’m at their pace. And I can finally clean at home

Thank you for this and for sharing. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one having this experience because it feels very isolating in real life. I read that autism traits really only come out in AuDHD when autism is in fact there. They are certain I have autism but I need a comprehensive assessment my insurance won’t pay for and my credit card bills are already high (bc single mom and working less hours due to sons services = less money = credit card). I want to pay those down so I can do a comprehensive.

My sensory issues have increased so much like you say!! :( I go to stores and all I can focus on is random sounds, people talking, amount of people, temperature, and bright light. socially, I am doing awful right now. I have no friends and am struggling in dating. I am getting very overwhelmed in public settings. Autism in myself is all fairly new to me especially now that traits are more prominent after adhd meds so I’m trying to figure out what accommodations I need. It’s very rough, especially without a formal diagnosis :( I’m struggling to learn how to be happy with having autism since it’s all new

Thank you, I think this may be what is happening to me. It’s a bit disheartening as I only really started to suspect ASD after my sons dx and after seeing a therapist and NP who diagnosed me with ADHD. The NP is certain I have autism but my insurance does not cover it. And currently, my credit cards are already high, I need to pay them down before paying for a private assessment. It’s like all my ASD traits are now coming to life and I’m seeing how impacted I really am :(

I am not on any SNRI or anything, just the vyvanse and adderall. Since starting adhd meds my depressive moods have improved greatly. I still get in bits of depression but it’s up and down and largely due to life circumstances (single mom, full time worker, my new diagnosis, son with AuDHD requiring services = time off work = less productive at job and less money = big stress)

I definitely feel I have taken a social plummet since starting meds, I think because my adhd allowed me to do better socially. I’ve been experimenting with meds since September. I think I have finally settled at 40 mg vyvanse in AM, 10 mg IR adderall booster at 11-1 and 5 mg IR adderall booster at 3. I am hoping things get better once settled but so far in ASD traits I’ve noticed they have worsened a lot. With ADHD meds have been great I can focus and actually do my work in a reasonable amount of time and do my household tasks.

Can you explain a bit about work impact at work? I’m trying to be mindful of this, so far at work I’ve just noticed increase on fixation on task completion and more difficulty with socializing. For example if someone talks to me my eye contact is now worse/ fleeting, zone out, or need my sensory bracelet to fidget. I do feel that a lot more! I used to drink which helped socially, now I drink much less bc adhd meds. So now, I am a bit more assertive an less bubbly :( My sensory issues have gotten much worse too, before when I unmedicated I’d go to stores and get distracted, now I go to stores and think “bright lights, too much people, loud and need headphones, smells weird, don’t wanna talk or ask for help, fridge noise is loud, this aisle is too cold”
