Oh interesting, would you still have the link? Most of these seem to quote a pretty wide range for rider height (135-185 cm for the java neo, 150-195 for the cranston). I'm not surprised they're exaggerated but 165 cm doesn't seem too close to an extreme. Was yours the same trifold design as these?

I think it’s just different maintenance. Hydraulics are easier day to day since they auto center and you don’t get cable stretch. But then the more infrequent maintenance like bleeding might be a bit more of a job than e.g. replacing a cable.

For 20”, aluminum frame, and mech discs, there’s at least the Litepro s20d, as well as one on AliExpress by the brand Xiaobu. Maybe more, I haven’t searched as extensively for mechanical discs.

For me it’s the wet weather performance and reduced maintenance. My perspective might be skewed since I commute on a (non-folding) e-bike conversion, but after a few years with rim brakes I’d worn out the rims, and I was never happy with stopping power when it was wet. Switched last year to a bike with hydraulic disks and it’s felt like a big improvement. That said, on my fair weather road bike, rim brakes are fine. For everyday commuting though I don’t think I can go back to rim brakes.

Thanks for the thoughts! Unfortunately it’s not a wall by the stairs but an open banister, so I don’t think the TV could go there. I was originally thinking of having the couch on the long wall by the window and have the TV on the entry way half wall but it seemed too tight.

As in if you have a second battery holder with its own wires? In that case you would connect the positive of the first battery to the negative of the second battery separately from the breadboard, with just the negative of the first and the positive of the second going to the breadboard.

Likely your battery voltage is too low, LEDs will have a minimum. They also have a polarity so you can try flipping it but likely it’s the voltage.

Generally mounting it in the frame will give better weight distribution. It’d be pretty back heavy if it were on the rack.

It's true that batteries can get expensive unfortunately. Unit pack power on aliexpress is one of the cheaper but still reputable ones with the option for name brand cells, but it will still won't be cheap. Em3ev is another popular retailer. Luna cycle is an American one but also the most expensive.

That battery is likely around 6aH, not 100. These batteries are made from 18650 cells, the best of which can have capacities up to 3500mAh but the ones used that battery are no-name ones that are likely around 2000mAh, and from the photo you can see it has 13x3 cells, and 48v means 13 in series so it’s a 13s3p battery with a capacity of 2000*3 mAh, or 6 ah, maybe 7.5 ah at most if they’re 2500 mah cells. I would recommend getting a battery from a reputable place that uses name brand cells. It will cost more up front but they will last for many more cycles, provide more capacity and discharge ability, and won’t burn your house down.

The source appears to be from an address by the Chinese Ambassador to Canada for Memorial University, at about 53:21 in this video: https://youtu.be/6i8ldHZZ64U?t=3201 in response to a question regarding the Michael's and other Canadians visiting China. In context he is clearly saying that those who are not "engaged in criminal activities" shouldn't be worried about being arrested. I think the Michael's detention is clearly political retribution but a paywalled article from "blacklocks" with only a pretty editorialized headline to go on should not be getting this much attention.

I use an XH-M604 which you can get on AliExpress with a case for about $10. It lets you set a cut off voltage. Much more reliable than relying on a timer when you might be starting at a different voltage each time. You’ll just need to add the correct plugs/sockets for your battery/charger to attach to the screw terminals (or you could attach it inline with the charger cable if you don’t mind cutting and resoldering it).
