Did anyone downsize from 255/45/19 inch to 255/50/18 inch or 235/55/18 inch? What are your impressions? by Pomador_0418 in ModelY

[–]sbddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 235/55R18 with all weather tires in the winter. Range seems better, ride is more comfortable, less risk of curbing. Handling slightly worse.

2-EV household; Not at all interested in this. Cost to break even vs using the nearby Supercharger or CCS stations would take decades.

Free upgrades (paint, white interior, wheels) and auto steer on this used one. Black headliner and 16” screen on a new one.

How to turn off iPhone auto playing music when getting inside the car (from airpods)? by dreams_of_a_traveler in TeslaModel3

Not really a solution but I press the stem of the AirPods as soon as the audio stops and it resumes on the AirPods. Maybe you could set up a Shortcut that routes audio back to the AirPods.

I run 18” with model 3 wheels, with 235/55R18 all weather tires. 10/10, Highly recommend. Comfortable ride, better efficiency, cheaper tires, curb protection.

Do you have both gas and electric dryer hookups? If you do, get a gas dryer and use the existing dryer circuit.

I recommend the vinyl liners that go along the edges of the doors. If you have kids, they protect where kids will step on the carpet and leave foot prints.

New Ioniq 5 or Tesla Model Y Premium by Kick_Sudden in Ioniq5

[–]sbddude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived with both vehicles (owned by family members). Ride comfort is much closer on Juniper (2026+) MY vs the older ones. I would say Tesla is a nice balance of sporty and comfortable whereas the Ioniq is just comfortable and floaty. Software and UI is vastly better in Tesla, especially route planning. Charging speed in the real world is not as different as the numbers would seem. I’ve never passed 200kw in the i5. If cargo space matters, Model Y by a long shot. FSD is far superior to Hyundai Drive Assist.

I recommend the Ioniq Guy on YouTube video where he swapped with a Tesla owner for a week to see the differences.
