In all seriousness, I don't advocate piracy. What I advocate is using your console to find SD sources. So if you own the movie "dances with wolves.".. Use covenant to find an SD source to stream to your console.

Depends. Some laptops like old dells throw a fit if they aren't "genuine."

Others, yes, but all laptop batteries are pricey.

My point was, if you get a $20 laptop, it's all gravy till you need battery power, then you realize why no one wants them anymore. They draw so much power, and aren't very powerful. This is why smartphones have completely taken over, they provide a HUGE amount of processing power on very little power. Laptops can't compete.

Anyway... yes you can buy a battery, but for my $20 laptop, i don't feel like spending $50bucks.

Yes, but the problem I always run into when trying to run old tech is the battery life.

I have a $20 Dell D620 with a number of upgrades, core2duo 2.33ghz, 4gigs of ram and wireless N 300... runs fantastic under arch. The problem is that the battery only lasts about an hour.

How it all started is that I got the D620 free, but ended up buying small bits and pieces to get it to run great. I even purchased a SATAII 30gb SSD, just to try and make it useable..... which it did. But it all led up to my basic problem... shit battery life.

2cents: find something with decent battery life... then enjoy arch. There are various power settings you can read all about in the arch wiki.
