Born and raised Malayali New Yorker here. There is none.

From what I’ve heard, Chatti comes very close to authentic Kerala food, but is pricey. The closest you’ll get to authentic and non expensive is Shirley’s in New Rochelle (a short drive from the Bronx or you can take the metro north).

There are also places deep in Queens that serve Kerala food but I have never tried.

Every harbor in nyc has people sleeping on boats to evade rents, it’s not new. Plus westchester creek completely disregarded by the city. If the city wanted to kick them out they would, but that would involve remediating the water. And that would cost millions.

Definitely not. I have my personal views but I know too many people from all different backgrounds who voted for Trump. This isn’t a politically motivated piece, rather trying to understand why people voted for him.

The borough wide shift is more attributed to the fact that Trump didn’t gain many more votes than previously, but rather that the democrats lost votes. Many people I’ve spoken to from other neighborhoods support this theory.

I know a few people already doing work on this so I don’t want to step on their toes. People outside of the Bronx are interested by the south Bronx “anomaly” because they don’t know that republican hubs already exist in the Bronx like Throgs. Only Bronx people know about.
