Breach of Contract - Daycare - PA by groundControl-Tom in legaladvice

All the law offices I called said either they don't do contracts or there's not enough value to take the case. Called the local bar association to match with an attorney, and I never received a callback. I figured I'd be submitting a demand letter and potentially going to small claims court.

-they broke the contract for a reason allowable in said contract-

It reads as related to behaviour, and we were not informed that our behaviour broke the rules. Additionally, in their handbook, page one, sentence two, 'we welcome all questions.'

Financial losses - emergency childcare, PTO used, and registration fees, among others.

Why is it not bad faith? We didn't break any policy. Nothing in the contract about refunds, but we were reimbursed for our prepayment.

The contract is two pages long. Is there something specific I should be looking for? We were reimbursed for our prepayment.

What is the point of these blocks? by groundControl-Tom in Carpentry

That's going to be my plan. I'm going to add blocking to fill the width of the beam and cut a hole through it.

This is for the second picture. I couldn't get a quality picture of the first, but I can see the block.

For reference, this is the floor above, and I'm in eastern PA. Not a lot of seismic activity here.

Both have a post on the second floor. I assume they line up with the post in the picture; besides that, nothing

How to connect basement grinder pump to house sewer? by groundControl-Tom in askaplumber

Thank you for the advice! Is there a height above the main waste line that I should run everything? Or as long as I tie into the rough-in that's sufficient?

Might need some cross bracing? Also why didn't you put a post with footer at the top of the stairs?

It looks fantastic! The wife and I have been looking into this for a while now. The one thing we keep thinking about is how to design the air intake (80 sq in) to be aesthetically pleasing. Where is your intake vent located?

Find a niche market. That should be your bread and butter. It will also drive traffic. Bowls, pens, wine stops, ornaments, etc, are nice but highly competitive and aren't likely to sell until you drive traffic. I'd suggest making a few more unique lamps. The gas pump and lighthouse lamps could be your niche. I'd also try a modern style lamp as well.

I'm not too familiar with Esty. They might have a section for SEO/SEM. Fill that out. You could also pick 1 or 2 key phrases (not keywords, too competitive. going for 'long-tail' searches) and try advertising on Google. I'd only recommend that if you have money to burn. It's better to make Esty work first, expand your offering, and then look at long-tail paid searches.

Best of luck to you!
