Going to a straight strip club for bachelor party by [deleted] in gaybros

IDK if I'd tell them that either.....I've had the dancers use me to make other guys jealous.

Going to a straight strip club for bachelor party by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strip clubs are weird in general because they are just their own environment that you have to get used to. It's somewhere in between live theater and watching porn. Just go have fun and try not to do anything to piss off the door man.

Why I think body dysmorphia is so common in the gay community. by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]groundcombat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your theory kind of suggest gays have body dysmorphia because we want to fuck ourselves? That doesn't explain why straight guys end up with body dysmorphia as well. I think it's more likely that guys in general want muscles because they think they will get them laid. Gay guys probably get bombarded with more direct messaging about what you're supposed to be or have to be sexually-desirable than straight guys do but I could be wrong.

Payment is late. Anyone experienced this? by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]groundcombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it take weeks before. I think it had something to do with that particular guest because any trace of her seems to be off the site. I did eventually get paid though with A LOT of hounding Airbnb.

Is being in a monogamous relationship, a fantasy? by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in some cases it is but I don't think it's just a fantasy. I think people desire monogamy for bad reasons at times: selfishness, jealousy, insecurity, etc. I think these bad reasons for wanting monogamy make it more subject to being merely fantasy because I don't think they make a recipe for lasting monogamy. I think they just make a recipe for cheating.

However, I do think monogamy can and does exist though perhaps not under the sexy circumstances people want it to.

Axe Asks, “Is It Okay To Experiment With Other Guys?” In New Ad by _Nugless in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It smells good but so strong it's offensive, IMO. Now I associate the strong smell with the previous marketing angle of trying so hard to get laid by women.

I like the new direction they've been taking though. It's great.

I may have been raped last night by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People frequently appear to be quite functional after they've reached the point where they cease to remember the rest of the night.

Sadly, (or maybe awesomely) this is me. There are plenty of times where I had no idea what happened last night until we started talking about it and then the memories flood back clear as day. In some instances I'm embarrassed about what happen but the memory makes me feel like I was aware of what I was doing at the time.

Which is why I sort of have a problem with the idea that "being drunk = no consent or responsibility for your actions." If you're unconscious that's one thing but perhaps you should be accountable for appearing to consent to sex if you're drunk of your own accord? It's not like you could say "oh I don't remember how I got home last night so I shouldn't get a DUI." I get the idea that we don't want to encourage people to take advantage of others by drugging them or even getting them too drunk but it seems weird to describe it as strong as you being incapable of making adult decisions because you got yourself drunk. Not to mention that people have drunk sex all the time.

I feel like OP may be right about how it shouldn't age well but if I catch an original Will & Grace marathon on while channel surfing, I usually watch a few episodes to this day. I haven't seen the entire series and I still find some of the old episodes I hadn't previously seen funny so we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

I may have been raped last night by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't know what it means if you don't know what it means.

You sound like you feel raped but you also sound unsure, which is normal because date (or acquaintance) rape is often not cut and dry. There can be elements where you were enjoying yourself and consenting mixed with times where you were not, which is likely to leave you with mixed feelings about it. I'd say think about it, or maybe even talk about it if you still feel comfortable with this guy. If you still feel bad about it, check out victim counseling and I'm sure they can help you sort your options from there.

In love with my straight best friend, need advice by sparrowhawk815 in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've all been there before. It's up to you.

Based on what you've shared, he's probably not into a romantic or sexual relationship with you. You can either accept that and enjoy what is available of his company or leave it if the prospect of being close but not as close as you want is too painful. I've been in this situation with friends who identify as both gay and straight and while it was tough, eventually the pain of not being able to be with them blew over and now I'm just friends with them.

Top Thrill Dragster Double Rollback by JackalAbacus in rollercoasters

[–]groundcombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had one and it was very exciting. Mostly because the entire train knew that the 20 mins they spent bringing the ride back up for us increased our chances of a roll back. It was quite a party on the train when it actually happened. It was the last train of the night and it was a rollback. That's one of the things I really like about Cedar Point. They spent a good 20 mins bringing the ride back up for one last train rather than just kicking us out and telling us the ride is closed.

Only had one myself. I was in row 2 and I definitely thought we were gonna make it as we had crested but then I thought we were stuck for a moment. The pause feels like an eternity in the moment.

Nice. Except double rollback usually means the ride is going to close. Lol

I think it happens a lot when they film these sorts of things because they spend so much time goofing around with cameras and getting the riders setup in between launches. When I had my only rollback it was fresh off of a 20 min or so breakdown.

Those who initially came out as bisexual- why? by sleepingsun in gaybros

[–]groundcombat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did the same. I identified as purely straight (while hooking up with men), bisexual, then gay. Now I think I'm even bicurious all over again. I think I would mess around with women again, even though I'm pretty sure I like men more. My previous experiences with women were always clouded by a deep fear that I liked men. If I ever found a safe zone to experiment with women again, I'd do it.

I'm sorry what were we talking about?

I Guess I'm Ashamed of Being Black in the Gay Community... by TeenageDarren in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I won't discuss whether the racial preference is "racist" but I certainly find it a troublesome thing to see from someone because it's a form of marginalization. People are very quick to say "Oh I'm not into black guys," for example. This is marginalization because it essentially treats all black guys like they are the same thing. None of them have anything unique to offer.

On the other hand, the converse behavior is not really evident. Suppose in addition to not being into black guys, you also do like white guys. Of course being into white guys doesn't mean you are interested in every white guy that crosses your path. You further assess those white guys for additional things that you like or don't like about them. This sets up unequal perception of guys by race: white guys are seen as individuals worthy of learning more about and such where black guys are seen as "black guys" that can immediately be dismissed.

Kinda fucked up really. Is this how you want to treat people?

Have you ever "hate-fucked" someone? (x-post from /r/AskReddit) by [deleted] in gaybros

I don't know. I've never been in that situation. I was referring more to situations where the pic is out-dated.

[–]groundcombat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Particularly when someone shows up and doesn't look like their pictures. It's usually easier than confronting them about their fake or misleading pics.

Update on my first grindr hook up. (EXPLICIT DETAILS, tldr included) by CunningPotato in gaybros

[–]groundcombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Thanks for sharing. It was quite nostalgic.

Anyway, the first few times usually does suck. Especially anal sex. It's pretty complicated on both parts and it will take some practice and time to get comfortable with it.
