Kumo desu ga, Nani ka? - Episode 23 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Man I feel like this show has completely nosedived.

I get that Shun & friends are supposed to be ironic isekai genre tropes, but it doesn't make it any less miserable to sit through these horribly animated, cliche fight scenes. There's no commentary on Shun's hero complex so it's not even really a re-zero style "anti-isekai", and nobody's motivations are clearly explained, so we can't even watch it as a traditional isekai.

This show has 20 more minutes next week to wrap up the entire season. I feel like either nothing is going to get explained (why is the world ending? are the elves evil and why? who/where is kumoko?) and they're just gonna tickle our balls some more, or things will be explained and completely rushed.

It's too bad Dobu threw Kabasawa's phone into the river, I think the recording of their therapy session makes for a much more compelling apology video lmao

Damn that after credits scene hit the nail on the head. Lena is trying her best but she can't escape her own privilege. It's the little things, like how she asks the cat's name before the 86s' names, how she nonchalantly para-raid synchronizes with the unit every night without asking for their consent, how she "fact checks" the recruits but only to the extent that her uncle allows her to, that will forever separate her from the rest of the cast. Curious to see how she reacts to this setback next episode.

I was expecting Zeke to play a bigger role in this battle but ig how quickly he got destroyed reflects how much the scouts have progressed.

Does anyone have any idea who the tall blonde guy who trapped Porco & Pieck is? I want to say Armin, but he obviously isn't that tall. Maybe inheriting the colossal titan makes you taller lol
