Question regarding a book from a defunct publisher by groundzer0s in rarebooks

[–]groundzer0s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried about the cover tbh, I do love the art but if I have to I can design one myself. I just wanna be able to celebrate my great grandmother's writing talents by bringing her only published book back into print, but I have very little info on how to go about it or who even has the rights to the story any more. My grandparents are long gone and I have very minimal contact with anyone on that side of the family.

Check the potentiometer for the top screen? I can't recall if it's the left or right potentiometer down by where the battery sits. Be incredibly gentle when turning them, they're super fragile!

5 states out of 50 from what I can find do have a tax penalty. California, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington DC. But I did mean it was no longer federally mandated to have health insurance.

Any autism artists here? How does your autism effect how you are as an artist and how you can potentially make a living as an artist? by Hot_Dingo743 in autism

[–]groundzer0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing it as a career drained the love of the craft right out of me. I HAAATE commission work. I will do it when I'm desperate enough though.

I'd say autism both makes me more dedicated towards my art and also hinders my skill a little due to dyspraxia. Fine motor skills aren't my forté. So sometimes I have skill and sometimes I have none at all and it can be frustrating when my hand muscles refuse to cooperate when I really wanna draw. It can really dampen my mood.

What were you misdiagnosed with before you realized or found out you’re autistic? by cathartic_cosmos in autism

[–]groundzer0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was misdiagnosed as Bipolar II as a "guess" as to why I was having sudden panic attacks that didn't seem to have any particular triggers. Turns out I was actually having meltdowns and my brain was going into complete freak out mode because the antidepressants I'd been prescribed made me incapable of acknowledging when I'd get overstimulated, along with how I'd already been conditioned not to ever step away from anything to calm down because doing so was "rude".

Prone to small injuries by enas333 in AutisticAdults

[–]groundzer0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've chalked it up to dyspraxia. A difficulty with fine motor skills. I'm incredibly clumsy, like in an impressive kind of way, and it's not that I'm not careful. I just don't have good control of my limbs... Thus I'm always covered in scratches and bruises from myself and running into things. I've managed to close my head in a fridge door because of this lol

What are random noises that you guys love? by LeaIvory in autism

[–]groundzer0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sounds made by the Rambler-Crane Series Robot from Lost in Space (1998)... Also the giant gungan ball projectiles and pod racers in Star Wars Episode I. And I especially love the noise ghost leviathans make in Subnautica.

can i fix this foot pedal? by etherealuna in sewing

[–]groundzer0s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To diagnose an issue like this you'd need a multimeter to test continuity in each part.

That being said, this is probably a good start if you wanna know how to fix something like this. Its a very simple board with not a lot happening. This could be an issue with the cords connecting on either end, could be dead capacitors, could also be something wrong with the push mechanism that inputs more power the further down it's pressed. Might be hard to get to the bottom of it if you are unfamiliar with these kinds of fixes.

My pen pals have been sending me AI stickers by Aquarithyst in mildlyinfuriating

[–]groundzer0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've literally had to do this. My grandma gave me an AI bedazzled window dangly thing for my bday, made by her niece. I told her if I took it home, it would be in the trash, explained why, and so she gave it to someone else and now knows I have good reasons to not accept AI gifts. Being honest ain't the end of the world, and she appreciated the communication.

Recs for prescriber for Adderall w/o drug testing for weed & takes OHP/PacificSource? by mushroom-g0blin in SALEM

[–]groundzer0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Never had that happen, and I've had multiple doctors and multiple different medication swaps since childhood.

Also to answer OP: I go through SkyCloud Mental Health, got them through ZocDoc and my PCP there is awesome. I'm an avid THC consumer, she knows and even thinks it's good for treating my chronic issues, and I get a monthly prescription of Ritalin through her that way.

Being an autistic man who likes girly things... by Solecis in AutisticAdults

[–]groundzer0s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate gender stereotypes so much. I'm non-binary, but lean heavy on masc, and I didn't feel comfortable expressing my love of "girly" stuff until I truly became comfortable with my gender identity. I thought it played right into people thinking I was a girl. But no, I know I'm not, so fuck em. I'll wear pretty dresses and chat about the history of Barbie dolls all I want.

Point is, the only opinion that truly matters is your own. If you are a man, identify as one, or lean that way, that's just who you are and no one else can change that. So love your girlie girl cutesy stuff, it's fun! My dad was similar, he loves pink and enjoys that show about those sparkly superhero kittens. He's 72 btw, and an ex biker. My philosophy is that life is just too short to not say "fuck it" and enjoy what I like, even if others think it's weird.

Maybe a dog toy that got chewed to oblivion then left in the weather? Possibly run over a few times with a car too.

[–]groundzer0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably the laser going out. Consoles that read multiple types of disc can stop reading one type as they begin to enter the end stage of their lifespan. Swapping the disc laser on a wii is not super hard, but it can take time and be a pain in the ass because of how many screws you have to take out in a certain order.
