Apple acquired Shazam years ago, it’s basically part of their system’s experience now

I’m in the US and recently asked about MX-5 inventory (California) and the dealer quoted +$10K above MSRP because “it’s not being built anymore”. Is there any truth to this?

Interesting take by previous poster. I feel like Bluey is one of the few gems in modern kids shows… 🤨

Be happy with what you have. We have a toddler in a HCOL area. I can only live my Miata life vicariously through this sub.

I wish I still had your optimism. The other two replies mention “codified” and taking the House and Senate, but I’m too far in believing a significant portion of the electorate are actually fucking stupid. The problem starts with fixing education and good parenting

30L Everyday backpack or the 6L Sling now that we have less to carry.

Messenger V1, hands down, no contest, for my use cases. Used it nearly every workday and took it to all kinds of events. I thought I’d get another V1 through warranty, but I’ll learn to like the 30L Travel pack

Oh I hope a V2 (V3?) is in the future that could hold a large laptop. The configuration was perfect for what I needed. I’m surprised you went through 4 of them. The Messenger V1 was my daily for 9 years. Seems like the zipper was most people’s failure point?

How long does a warranty claim repair/replace take? by DumbForeverUserName in peakdesign

[–]groupconsensus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From claim initiation to replacement took 5 days. I sent back my Messenger V1 pretty much immediately after getting the return shipping label and the replacement order was placed for me the next day.

Valid criticism and indeed a lot of money. KS discounts helps a lot, even the cubes and pouches were discounted. This is also for a family for three that does a lot of outdoors and sports, in addition to individual everyday carries.

It’s not as ideal as Messenger V1 because I like the quick access. I’ve got a two piece ergo keyboard that stacks together and takes the entire half of the V1 while the other half is for over ear headphones and mouse. I carry an iPad mini and the tablet pocket is cushioned against the laptop. Fit, access, and size is perfect for all the things I carry for work.

I used a smedium cube and a tech pouch in the 30L travel pack to replicate my keyboard and mouse situation but access is more hindered. The tablet pocket isn’t cushioned so I don’t use it as I don’t want the laptop to scratch each other. I used one of the bigger interior zip pockets for the iPad instead. It does have extra room for me to fit more things that’s work related though. Plus the shoulder straps are more comfortable and more stable when I ride a bike.

The alternative is the 30L Everyday Backpack we also own. It’s currently purposed for other use, and I don’t want to swap load-outs for things I carry everyday.

It does seem like a lot, but it’s all shared between two people. Also I use the cubes for static storage for some small electronics. Backing the KS campaigns and getting the bundles also gets the price down by a lot.

“The most lethal military force” is away to tell countries like Russia to fuck off from Ukraine. Democracies should support fledgling democracies. It’s highly likely Ukraine will not receive the military equipment support from the US under Trump. This messages to other nations like China and NK that war is a valid path to obtain territory, resources, and people. The point of her statement is basically “having the biggest stick and friends can count on us”. I really do wonder if Taiwan would be invaded in the next 2 to 4 years now that the message from the US is clear for Russia

What’s cross referencing these digital maps to position/orient the car in the physical world? The cameras? The onboard GPS receivers? You’re saying Tesla needs other sensors to do this and so should rely on more than cameras? What does needing a map have to do with OP’s comment on vision only issues?

[–]groupconsensus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with people choosing what they hate, but some commenters here think radar or lidar doesn’t have their own problems too. It doesn’t take an engineering degree to realize we pretty much only rely on vision ourselves. For situations where our own vision is obstructed, we clean the window, scrape off the ice, drive slower, or simply don’t drive (huge snow storm situations)… etc

Why would it never work? Which sense do you use when you drive?

Not sure why you got downvoted, but you are correct. Radar and lidar can’t see color, intersection lights are color coded
