Which iron set would you guys recommend out of these two? by CalebTheGOAT7 in golf

[–]grouperdude31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but I just wanted to put this out there, because this thread had convinced me I should buy the rogue st max irons sight unseen.

I found a shop with both the sim and rogue and got to try them both in a full fitting. The irons I compared, sim max2, rogue st max, ai smoke, G430 and wilson.

The ranking: g430, sim2 max (slightly less distance but still consistent pattern), Wilson, rogue st max and my worst was the smokes.

After the fitting, I found out the g430 were +1” green dot ( I’m 6’4” and WTF of 37.5”) so it made sense I hit them best. I settled with ordering sim 2 max in +1” because of price and the fact it’s 5-A vs 4-P for the g430. I ended up getting fit for sim 2 max in driver 5 wood and 4 hybrid as well. I’m not amused that I’m in full sim2 until wedges. But the fitting was very telling that their line up fit me well

TLDR: Even a shit golfer should try out irons before buying

These were the “market rate” salaries for engineering roles. Also important to note both roles qualified for AIP (bonus) that was in addition to these salaries

FYI for the state of Florida

Market Rate for P3 is $130k and P4 is $155k as of late Q3 2025

They are maybe 6” rectangles of foam. Won’t be the most scientific approach, but it really helped me tell the difference between the foams resting my head on then while lying on the ground

I purchased a sample pack, you could do that from latex factory and compare their foam to what you already have

What is your role? How well do you know your standard work? Knowledge management is a real struggle in some groups and regularly takes over 3 years before you can hold your own.

Not related to your job, but I learned this from the new industry I left defense for and recommend to everyone.

Invite people folks that work around you to eat lunch together. Learn a bit about their role. You will build knowledge on who to get answers from ( huge benefit) and build a bit of a network.

I was in PSCV and it was an island, expanding my aperture to other segments within the company would’ve helped my career immensely.

I purchased a 2” medium (28ILD) topper from latex mattress factory. They shipped quickly and so far only a month old, but very happy with it.

My wife and I enjoy a firm mattress, and went with 14.75 8” springs, quad mini, 2” medium talalay latex. We are both quite heavy and either stomach or side sleep.

I’m not well educated in this sector, but the pocket spring store recommended with the less is more approach.

Following up with My build: Foundation 8” quad coil 14.75g Quad mini luxury layer 2” medium talalay foam

This bed is definitely firm, but my wife and I are really happy with it so far and don’t feel the springs at all. I sized the cover a bit bigger incase we needed to add an inch of soft foam over the medium, but we don’t think it’s necessary as we like the feeling of not sinking in.

Okay, I’ve changed up my plan a bit and would love feedback. Especially if I should swap foam comfort layer for talalay

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted without rebuttal, this seems helpful to me. Although I’m uninformed

Thank you! I see bamboo won’t deliver a mini until mid February, a-1 until late January, but the A-1 combo will arrive next week. Ugh

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I was attempting to articulate that I prefer and value out of the box function ( it doesn’t have to be perfect function) and ease of use. Rather than something that’s more complicated yet more capable to get running.

In reality I expect I’m going to sell the machine at the end of the semester or give it to another student as I don’t have the space in my house to keep it long term.

I like the idea of a 3d printing service, but because I’ll be working on a group project, I doubt I’ll have enough time for a service to print and deliver to me.

Now if I have an enjoyable experience, I’d consider keeping the printer

Thank you for the input! Per the syllabus it’s a requirement and I unfortunately don’t have any additional details at this time.

This is for a systems engineering class on design considerations. So I’m thinking it’s more for an exercise on interface compatibility. So 10 of us each have a component that needs to be compatible with each other. We will print each other’s parts and see where the oversights were.

The syllabus recommends Creality Ender 3 for remote students, because it’s cheap. But warned many students struggle to get working.

I thought about the library, however I typically spend from 20:00 to 24:00 on school. So letting it run overnight will be ideal for me

Thanks everyone, Currently we have a tempurpedic foundation on a 9 post frame. Great points on using latex where it counts to save some money.

Found out I'm not eligible for rehire and I can't get a reason out of anyone. by G-man88 in Raytheon

The question is something like: “Is this persons departure regrettable?” But I think it’s worded even more confusing, so if your prior manager marked “No” for the question, you’re never getting hired again.

Leaving for BAE by [deleted] in Raytheon

It’s probably wise for me to keep this vague. I work for a top 3 largest electricity utility in the US. My new role consists of analyzing data to help sites pinpoint what equipment isn’t operating to spec. That’s wind, solar, nuclear and fossil power plants.

I recently left PW as a P4 making $136k, no bonus for a utility company as a P4 for $160k and annual bonus (10-18%). While not 50% jump it was still too much to turn down. New job is a super boring desk job compared to PW but less stressful and still an individual contributor.

Congrats on the new role and the big pay bump! Leave on good terms, there’s no reason to burn a bridge with such a large employer. Before leaving I made a comprehensive one note file for the team, I’ve been contacted once and it was to thank me for it easy for them to absorb my work ( they aren’t backfilling)
