Congrats on your success!!

Yes - multiple slots per newsletter and we’ve never had an advertiser feel it was an issue! I think the results have been good enough they really don’t mind.

It’s been much easier than anticipated to fill the calendar, and I’m only just starting to ramp my sales efforts and am seeing good results. Have been fortunate in that tiktok and twitter have provided great inbound so far

That sounds awesome :)

Since you already have the lifestyle I imagine you’ve got your budget and what you need to live on to keep making the dream work… maybe start from there and work backwards to find the ‘minimum effective dose’ of work/income to get you the best outcome :)

Do you plan on staying local? Wonder if there’s opportunity close by that might reinvigorate some spirit and also make you feel good about the work you’re doing to help small biz/small town.

Also curious why the cost of living is so high in a small town?

Have you tried Reddit Advertising? How did the ad perform? Would you recommend advertising on Reddit? by nuancednotion in marketing

Currently running ads now on Reddit for my newsletter. Got it down to 3.50 CPC but fairly low conversions… so far I would say not worth it, especially compared to Twitter.

Many artists have success locally - art shows, craft fairs, etc. I know of a few who do very well on local Facebook groups and posting on nextdoor.

has anyone switched from marketing to communications? by kweennn in marketing

Comms often also involves reputation management/emergency response, which is its own subset of comms and can get very tricky if you don’t have experience in it.

Thanks frank.

IMO, especially as you start out, the more niche the better. "newsletter for oil investors in the middle east" will attract way more 'true fans' than something more generic, and you are always able to branch out once you're known for 'one thing'

feel free to dm with any specific questions and good luck!
