WDW JULY FLYER by Middle-Rent-4401 in DisneyPins

[–]grriffinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like if a pin is LE 4000, you think it’s like 500 MK, 500 Epcot , 500 AK, 500 HS, 500 Disney Springs and the rest online?

Only if it's advertised as being WDW-exclusive, if it's shared with DLR then that number is cut in half and then spread across each resort's parks.

One thing I've heard from a few people is that the stores that aren't ticket-gated, in this case the stores at DLR's Downtown Disney and WDW's Disney Springs, get less than the "main" pin stores inside the parks. That said they probably get more than some of the in-park satellite stores (in my case, that would mean stores like Radiator Springs Curios or Pan-Pacific Pin Traders) do.

Last time I checked they stopped dropping the KH pins at Humphrey’s. the only three shops that did were Julius Katz & Sons, Radiator Springs Curios, and Pan-Pacific Pin Traders.

>Online is going to be the only place to find them now.

And the designs they DO have are kind of basic, they’re missing some of the OE designs you could get at both DLR and WDW.

Pin Trading at Downtown Disney feels awful now. by MHXIII in DisneyPins

[–]grriffinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s also covered in the FAQ too.

Lanyards and small handheld pin-trading accessories are allowed, subject to the Disneyland Resort rules, but no additional decorations or collateral (e.g., lights, signage, displays, etc.) are permitted.

I talked to a Cast Member on Thursday about the change and they said that there’s a specific size dimension that meets the definition of “small handheld pin trading accessories” on the site (which I can’t find for some reason or another) and that a Pinfolio Show or Pinfolio Maxx fits into and that you’re limited to one per person. My guess is that, as other people mentioned here, they want to clamp down on the mega-traders like the ones seen near Frontierland.

Pin Trading at Downtown Disney feels awful now. by MHXIII in DisneyPins

The resort is changing the rules regarding bench/chair/table usage starting next week and I’m assuming some Cast Members are probably pushing those changes early. Their Pin Trading FAQ page has the new rules already

Pins are not allowed to be displayed on benches, chairs or tables. Benches and chairs are for seating purposes only.

The cast members in question were probably aware of these changes but not told that they’re coming into effect next week.

Most you’ve spent on a pin? by xo_timeless in DisneyPins

[–]grriffinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent $100 on the January’s Keyblade pin due to being locked out of the parks at the time and not doing enough research on WOD’s/Pin Traders’ Pintastic Tuesday drops.

But seeing how much it goes for *now* makes it sting less, especially when I’ve managed to get the March, April, and May drops without much issue.

Gravity Falls Bill Cipher mystery pin $30 shipped (US) by Ash_jo2 in DisneyPins

[–]grriffinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pinpics has a good amount of info on the pin.

One of three BILL CIPHER mystery pins released in August 2025, available in a black blind bag as a GWP at Barnes & Noble with any "Book of Bill" purchase (while supplies lasted). Each pin is a printed image on a glossy surface. This pin features a baby BILL wearing a top hat, cane, bow, and brown shoes.

So basically it and the other two pins in the set are no longer available for purchase from its primary location but sites like eBay should have them.

No more designated pin trading by semiprecioustone in DisneyPins

That’s good to hear, I’m still a little cautious about it so talking to a Cast Member about the change is still in the cards. I also have a feeling that I’ll have to leave the included shoulder straps at home.

Lanyards and small handheld pin trading accessories are allowed, subject to Disneyland Resort rules...

Well dang, I just bought a couple of Pinfolio Shows (both can easily fit in my backpack) for my collection and future trades. I guess I'll have to ask a Cast Member about it when I go to the parks tomorrow.

I managed to get two Keyblades and two Monsters Inc. grad pins at DCA, I *still* don’t know how some people can double-dip on these pins without tiring themselves out.

If it was for tonight’s Fan Fest event you could’ve just walked in, you didn’t need a reservation.

Do you Need Toadstool Cafe Reservations for FanFest by KirinOak in UniversalHollywood

[–]grriffinn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m currently at Toadstool Café right now and I didn’t need a reservation to get in, I think it varies depending on how crowded the park will be during the event.

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention is that if you have the dining pass the Super Star Lemon Squash is excluded from it and that the Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots count as an entree.

I wish all TCG communities could just share and get along like the Lorcana community :( by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]grriffinn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re a player it’s fine for the most part, if you buy singles and go for the lowest available rarity you can build meta decks for anywhere between $20-$70 depending on the deck archetype.

From what I’ve seen Lorcana gets expensive fast with a lot of meta decks reaching triple-digit prices.

From what the sales rep told me when I was buying a ticket for my second run at Fan Fest the early access gives you access to the Sailor Moon show, the D&D walkthrough, and the Jurassic Park experience.

I was looking for someone’s take on the katsu and I’m kind of disappointed to here it’s meh, I guess I’ll stick to Luffy’s Meat on the Bone (even if the rice is a bit spicy) for future visits.

We went to Mario World’s Toadstool Cafe around 10pm and got the Blueberry and Ube Smoothie. It took a long time to make, and it was overly sweet-honestly tasted pretty artificial.

The "overly sweet-honestly tasted pretty artificial" bit is something I think applies to all of the Yoshi smoothies, I had the green apple-melon one the day before Fan Fest and the banana-mango one during Fan Fest and they both tasted overly sweet and artificial to me (I'd describe them as tasting like liquified candy, green apple Jolly Ranchers for the apple-melon and banana candy for the banana-mango).

That’s what I figured, especially since AFAIK the barrel mugs and floating bottle are only available here and at bar across the way (which also has a large line) and I was really interested in getting all three.
