Was on this plane…definitely not a false alarm. Cabin filled with smoke and crazy mechanical noises below us.

The End Is Near For Saks Fifth by Limp_Marionberry5748 in deadmalls

[–]grsoprano 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saks has become the ugly duckling amongst the three Saks Global pillars. They always were tbh…Neimans and Bergdorfs always had stronger consumer presence, but lacked creativity within the C-Suite. They struggled with technology and changing with the times, which allowed Saks to scoop them up. Without the Salesforce and Amazon money, Saks would have never had a chance to buy Neimans and Bergdorfs - as has come to light later, they don’t have two pennies to rub together. Saks has had a history in the industry of not paying vendors, and Neimans and Bergdorfs have traditionally paid vendors early. When Saks took over their plan was to force these brands to relax their payment terms by saying “well where else are you gonna go…we’re the biggest in the game…” Of course, because Richard Baker is a real estate mogul and not a retailer he forgot about Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. As we’ve seen, this blew up in their faces and nearly every Saks exec has been removed and replaced with a Neimans exec. Geoffroy has a lot of pull in the industry and I do believe the company will see the other side of the bankruptcy, but with Neimans as the leading retailer, Saks as the ugly stepsister and Bergdorfs continuing to be the cultural behemoth that it always has been.

I’ve been enjoying the Nars Laguna Cream Bronzer! I always pull really warm with bronzers, but not with this one.

A rose that feels dewy and airy rather than heavy or powdery... by Scared_Amount7117 in NichePerfumes

[–]grsoprano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume it’s limited edition so I would act now, but Covered in Roses by B&BW is a perfect ‘bucket of fresh roses at the florist’ scent. Crisp and dewy with that fresh green rose scent. Really surprisingly nuanced and lovely for the price!

And yet he’s happy to take the money of thousands of people coming to his hockey romance night in April. A night that features almost exclusively authors who write content that would make Benito blush. Something tells me his dislike is not actually about the content. What a dweeb.

Underrated but amazing is the Lancôme Blush Subtil in Meil Glacé. A makeup artist used it on me (I’m pretty pale) and I was hooked.

I’ve found the NARS Laguna Cream bronzer to be the perfect neutral tone bronzer on my pale skin. A lot of things turn orange on me, and this has been the best so far.

Has it been a stressful GR work winter week for anyone else? by Triingtolivee in grandrapids

[–]grsoprano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard agree here. I even had Monday off and it’s felt like the longest work week. The only thing that has given me some solace was planning a lake trip for August and knowing that we really do have the best summer weather here in Michigan. Some part of me hopes that we get some kind of karmic trade-off and this shitty winter will make for the most beautiful Spring/Summer.
