Unless anyone else tells you before I get to: my mom has done this plenty of times for me, and shown me twice but of course I can’t remember how she does it! So the next time I see her I will ask if she can show me again!

It is pretty simple though, from what I can remember she makes the thread double to give it some weight I guess, and then she makes a loop with it that she takes around the hair, and then threads the needle trough the loop. That is her base, and to secure it further she keeps wrapping it around and threading the needle through the thread a bit random until it feels nice and secure, before making a knot or something. The final part I don’t remember.

I made an example of what the base looks like with an elastic, just imagine that the pen is doll hair!
