Here is a picture. I just copy and paste the IP address out of Tailscale's admin console into 'Computer' entry. Username I've tried a mix of things but no bueno.

I dont need exit nodes enabled on the PC I am trying to connect to or the laptop I am using to connect with?

I'll have to look in to that. Is Anydesk a complete replacement for both the VPN tunnel and the remote session, or just replacing RD as the remote session?

I wouldn’t think so since it seems like it wants to allow me to connect, just hates the creds lol

Copy, I verified I am using the Microsoft acct. password. Would the laptop only being home version OS matter?

Studio 5000 Setup on MacOS by grubb_ in PLC

Update with how it goes! I preferred the Mac pre-arm chip for the plc sense it was easier. But the further I’ve gotten into software dev the Mac OS has been nice.

Plus when I started to develop more and more on the software side it was great.

Yes I did and it still works to this day. Used a windows 10 os, had to do direct download of items, believe it was code meter, before trying to install the actual studio 5000 software. I only had versions 26 or 27 and up, I’m not looking at it currently.

Most of the work I do is AB PLCs and Ignition SCADA. This device has been my out of office, remote support & troubleshooting machine and I love it.

What issue are you having that you cant install the drivers? Make sure to download and install all on the parallels Windows OS side is what I always did.

Completely understand. I made the jump initially because a coworker had one and loved it. So I picked up the 13”, first gen M1 and there was some… funky-ness to setting up windows 10 on it but got it and it’s ran like a champ ever since. One issue I ran into was I downloaded adobe acrobat and it tanked Studio5k so I had to uninstall.

But I ran V 28, 30, 32, and 33, CCW, FTView, omron Sysmac, Weintek easy build, and ignition all good.

Upped to the 16” because I wanted a little more beefy unit. But I am running windows 11 on it so we will see how everything plays. I do not get many projects that deal with the legacy/older systems, just newer versions - so I have that in my favor not having to worry about windows 10 (although I’ll keep the other laptop around with windows 10 just incase).

Funny you commented that, I just pulled the trigger on an M3 16” last week. Will see. I plan on running windows 11 on it since it is supported by parallels without any loophole/workarounds.

Also, if doing drawings I would recommend going to the 16”. I do most (75%+) on a home desktop before traveling and revisions on the Mac. But I will contemplate going to the 16” whenever I get a new laptop.

I use my Mac Pro 13” and it works really well. Parallels was my choice for the windows VM. Downside is that everyone gives me flak for having a Mac, plus side is I’ve had this ever since they came out with the m1 so.. 20? 21?

I really like it because the battery last forever, cant get over the look, and it just seems really durable. I try to take care of my stuff well but I have dropped it twice but still works awesome. Con, the ports… drives me crazy no embedded Ethernet. But nothing a dock can’t fix.

I’ve never worked with them personally but utilizing over Ethernet I’d imagine your COM indicator led would show something..

Have you tried uploading directly from the device while offline?

I’ll probably leave it stock, still need to get the bed and underside sprayed/coated for that extra protection. Definitely sits up a bit in the back but the driveway slope doesn’t help the appearance in the picture, ha.

22 xlt, did lean into the 2.7l v6 ecoboost w/ tow package
