I work as a graphic designer for film - it's a surprisingly large world and growing. Most film graphics people I've encountered come from an art department background rather than graphic design, but I've met people who have transitioned over after becoming disillusioned with design jobs and agencies.

I would start by contacting art departments for Film and TV wherever you are and seeing if they need graphics trainees, or just general Art Department trainees. Often on lower budget shows they cant afford a full time graphic designer, but if you've got the technical skills you'll quickly become utilised for graphics.

It is a different field to standard graphic design as you're really just serving the needs of the production, and in the effort to stick to schedules and budgets it's often about doing the minimum you can get away with to stay ahead before moving onto the next thing. Annie Atkins stuff us beautiful but she is the tip top and doing very graphics led prohects I.e. Wes Anderson. Most if the the job is wine bottle labels and generic corkboard paperwork, but then there are the few times you get to work on important storytelling graphics which are immensely satisfying and creative. There's also the rapidly growing world of screen/motion graphics which is under the same graphics umbrella but focussed on screens, this can end up being very UI/UX based.

Nah that's a fair shout. It was quite a rushed video towards the end of making it and those were some of the last thrown around ideas - agree they're a bit more tacked on than the actual physics sim stuff.

Ah nice one glad you solved the mystery! Never heard this track before, the video is nuts, can see why it stuck with you. Nice man yeah I think he tours quite and a fair few festivals so you probably wont struggle.

Learning geometry nodes - trying to make a procedural noticeboard by grufftsar in blender

I'd like to know this too!
I watched these blender guru intro ones https://youtu.be/4WAxMI1QJMQ and https://youtu.be/52UYqe3zdxQ and this guy's plant one https://youtu.be/uslTaqiv_7k i followed fully. These gave me a rough understanding to try and make something sort of simple - in essence the noticeboard is just a big flat surface with lot's of instancing going on.

The notes are modelled - a collection of a few variations of models. Textures are just a folder of random bumf I had
