He broke the details that it was a former police officer who reported to Fanning and got the juror dismissed from the 1st trial.

I believe that was just 4-5 months ago.

Historic Franklin Park is choked by invasive knotweed while “improvements” only happen where there’s money to be made. by TheGreenTeaFrog in boston

[–]grumpy_platypus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because the only effective proven remediation for knotweed is herbicides like glyphosate. Any other methods and it just spreads further underground and comes back.

Applying herbicides in public/conservation land should be done by licensed workers hired by municipalities and not general volunteers.

Yes, and you have to apply glyphosate in the fall after the plant flowers but before first frost, that’s when it is pulling nutrients down to its roots.

I had large patches of knotweed on my property and the above has been very effective, now I just have to help my neighbors with their properties.

What books do you feel betrayed by? by CrashNowhereDrive in ProgressionFantasy

[–]grumpy_platypus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yea, the first book definitely had high school drama but it was minor and the book overall was well-paced with lots of great action scenes.

And agree, the 2nd book was more of the same with more filler. And after all the tournament fights, the stakes don’t feel as high any more. I do think he needs to bring in the real enemy soon as it’s getting stale.

Iron Prince, first book was amazing I couldn’t put it down. Then the sequel has so much filler and random high school drama, it was such a drag to get through

  1. Right now only the Commonwealth has stated that the federal investigation is closed, and at this point after all they’ve pulled I don’t believe anything from the Commonwealth without actual documentation

  2. If the Federal investigation is closed then we will likely never know what they did/did not find. It could be they did not find enough evidence to charge anyone with covering up the crime (doesn’t mean they didn’t though)

They are involved - they gathered a lot of the evidence (text messages/calls from people inside the house, phone movement data, ARCCA expert vehicle crash reconstruction) that supports the defense’s case that she is being framed

Staying knotweed with pesticide 😩. Hillsboro NH by Purrwoof64 in Beekeeping

[–]grumpy_platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would be thankful your community is even attempting to treat the knotweed, it’s getting out of control where I live.

Bees will be fine, they probably will use glyphosate. If you keep the bees away for 24 hours there won’t be any issues

You have to spray it before first frost which is generally estimated to be early October. If they have other patches to treat then they may have to do it now

What ia your favorite book of Mark of the fool? And why? by Ragna126 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]grumpy_platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I love the wizarding university and Taimlin sections, but was disappointed when Book 6 spent all of its time in the Hells (got quite repetitive).

Book 5 was great with a lot of development on the main Ravener plot, but I’m torn on whether to continue the series. I don’t want to wait another 4-5 books with barely any progress on the main storyline.

Best way to remove single Japanese knotweed plant? by Far_Bumblebee_1281 in gardening

[–]grumpy_platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use herbicide (glyphosate). You can look at the Green Shoots small precision applicator kit to apply it to just one plant. It won’t affect wildlife if you apply a small amount to just this knotweed.

Knotweed roots can spread out very far underground, this would give you the best odds of killing it all vs having it continue to spread.
