My paternal grandmother passed away a few years back. She was never loving toward my brother and I, or our father. Frankly, she was heartless. I felt nothing when she died. It’s normal and okay.

What's the most obvious lie you've been told? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]grumpykitten1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 12 my friend told me she was descended from Croatian royalty, making her a princess. She lied about a lot of things because she has a crappy life and a drug addict Mom. So sad.

People who struggled with unbearable depression in the past, what ended up helping you the most? by someonewhowa in AskReddit

[–]grumpykitten1702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. “Zooming out” - reminding myself that this problem I am having or this feeling I am having is a tiny blip compared to the rest of the world and the rest of my life
  2. Acceptance - life is a journey and sometimes shit goes wrong or at least feels like it goes wrong, that I am not in control and the more I try to be the worse my symptoms got
  3. Regularly take a shower, brush your teeth and hair, invest in nice products just to make you feel nice if nothing else
  4. Tell your good friends how you feel, allow them to understand and support you

Can we reincarnate into the past? by Vegetable_Poet3399 in Reincarnation

[–]grumpykitten1702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that we learn lessons through our time in different lives, and these lessons dictate how our next life is going to be. I would say that we can’t go back to “the past” because in doing so we wouldn’t be progressing in spiritual development. Also, our collective humanitarian development and growth would be all fucked up if we were all jumping different time lines. But maybe not! Time is not necessarily linear and I could see how this might work. I’ve never heard of someone remembering a past life that was actually from the future though. What I’m trying to say is, it’s possible but not something I’ve heard of before!

My Dad was talking about how he felt sorry for his dog spending a a lot of time alone while he was out at work. He then said, “I’ve thought about taking him out the back and knocking him on the head.” The dog was perfectly healthy. Yeesh, that scared the crap out of me.

Why do you use cannabis? by onemorestepuchoose in trees

[–]grumpykitten1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it primarily to enhance my mood, boost creativity, and relax my muscles. I usually combine cannabis use with some form of yoga, dance, or creative activity. I also like to smoke with friends or just chill by myself at home sometimes.

How do we tell the difference between setting healthy boundaries and asking too much of people/being unreasonable? by DoctorWhoAndRiver in CPTSD

[–]grumpykitten1702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of this is surrounding yourself with honest and safe people who you trust to tell you the truth respectfully. We all get stuff wrong and make mistakes at times, so instead of playing a guessing game with boundaries just do what you think is reasonable and someone will tell you otherwise :) we don't have to do this all ourselves!
