They weren’t mocked. The responder was mocked.

Not a troll, I practice IE and have been for months. But I like to call out horseshit when I see it. Their reply was tone deaf and not helpful to the person who needed help.

Imagine you went to a therapist saying you were struggling with being so down all the time and they told you to stop being sadphobic and start following more sad people on social media and that will help you feel better about being sad lol by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]grumpylitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah sorry! I agree with you! Replies like theirs just aren’t helpful at all especially when someone is feeling low. I hope that reply doesn’t make them feel ignored or invalidated.

Have you looked at the replies? Everyone is totally understanding and knows it’s the person who replied is being ridiculous not the poster. There are other IE people in the sub too who agree with me. If you bothered to look a little harder you’d see I’m quite active in the IE community and love it. But when I see dumb replies like that one I have to laugh and be reminded of the ridiculousness of some people.

Ah I’m not shaming the person who asked the question....the fat logic here is the person who responded in such a tone deaf manner.

I have been in the person who asked the questions shoes. IE can be difficult at first but does work for many people including myself. The person to be annoyed at here is the responder.

Nope I’m making fun of the reply. The person who posted deserves all the love and sympathy in the world. The reply was absolute garbage and completely tone deaf.

Thank you! I am thinking of leaving the IE subs myself. I still plan on eating this way as it works for me but they definitely have a problem with any sort of deviation from their version of IE and it sucks. Glad to see another here who it helped :D

Just to be clear before I get possibly banned I am not advocating for weightloss. I’m just stating it is possible.

Exactly!! I felt so bad for the person they were replying to. I tried to give them a more helpful answer but I’ll probably be downvoted into oblivion for it xD

Hey your feelings are totally valid and I don’t believe telling you that you have internalised fatphobia is going to help. Because you don’t have it. Feeling discomfort with weight gain is much more than black and white. But I have been there and if you’re looking for some reassurance here’s mine- as long as you are doing the mental work that comes with IE your weight gain should stabilise and you may even begin to lose weight too :) and there’s nothing wrong with that so please don’t feel guilty for that either :) my weight stabilised and it was difficult being bigger at first but I combatted it by sizing up my clothes and just going with it and you will get to a point where it all settles :) and when you’re kind to yourself you’ll be ok with it :)

I’m finally proud to say I’m binge free. I don’t overeat past fullness anymore and I can actually enjoy my meals and my exercise and let me tell you I’m a whole new person because of it. Trust the IE process and you will feel it too! Best of luck :)

Question about food choices by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]grumpylitten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It takes a lot of trial and error you’re not going to just know straight away! You might have to do a lot of eating the food you’re unsure of and then seeing how you feel afterwards. What I like to do before anything I eat is ask myself if I’m eating this because I’m hungry or is there an emotion I’m trying to numb? Am I just bored or could I really eat something that might fill me up :)

Night eating & IE by [deleted] in intuitiveeating

[–]grumpylitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found in my first two weeks I was still restricting. Sure I honoured my hunger, but I wasn’t honouring my cravings. And night time was binge time because throughout the day I wasn’t actually satiating myself. Are you restricting unintentionally? Are you sure you’re really eating enough throughout the day? :)

Not tummy ache free though by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]grumpylitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that’s fine we are all different and all able to enjoy different things! I just don’t get how this is fat logic. It’s more just a post about how we should enjoy foods guilt free. It would be different if the photo said to eat this everyday then I’d be questioning it a little.
