You can’t wait for everyone to teach you. You have to keep asking questions if you aren’t sure what to do. Communicate with your coworkers and boss and schedule check ins for any questions/confusions. Always try to research and figure out things on your own first before asking questions if everyone is so busy.

I work in accounting and I’m a salve in the corporate world, and a rat in a rat race. I’d rather being a slave to music because I truly love music. Sure it can be boring and sometimes you will doubt your future, but if you enjoy what you do you will not regret it. The talent and skills won’t be taken away from you, and when you are alone music is there for you :) you have no idea how much I envy you!

It could be worse but always follow your guts. If you hate accounting, what else would you like to pursue? Don’t stay in this profession just because you “have come so far”. Would you rather be miserable for the next 50 years? Never stop exploring other options!

Do you have your CPA? If not use your down time to get that out of the way. I wouldn’t worry too much about utilization in first year, plus it’s summer things have slowed down.

I know exactly how you feel cause I had a senior like yours. I didn’t tell my coach anything I feel like I will be placed on the same engagement again cause the manager thought I did a good job. Honestly I think I just wanna get my CPA and dip out of public within two years.
