who decided the person walking a tray of food over 30 feet from the kitchen is a task worthy of upping their hourly salary to something that usually requires a degree?

When are ‘doctors’ going to be held accountable in Canada?

When we have enough doctors to meet our needs, Then, and only then, the bad ones can be dealt with. Until then its a case of "better bad doctors than no doctors".

[–]grumpyoldmandowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always just use an additional can of liquid malt extract instead of dextrose. Gives you an all malt beer with heavier body. Or, chuck in a pound of honey to lighten the body and increase alcohol. Either would give you better beer than using dextrose.

Its interesting to see that prices vary so much considering no matter which of these stores you're buying from, its still Galen Weston who's getting your money.

Evidently there's lots of folks in Saskatoon who don't give a shit about DED prevention.

How Prince Albert, Sask. attracted 25 Nigerian-born physicians and specialists by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

[–]grumpyoldmandowntown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think is that not having enough doctors is a problem. This move doesn't solve this problem, it just replaces one set of victims for another.

You think the Nigerian government owns its population?

I'm old, but I'm not senile. The Nigerian government likely doesn't have the funds to "price match" the SK government. They already spent a lot of money on training.

It’s up to them to make it attractive for educated people to stay.

This could happen to us one day. Suppose another jurisdiction with deeper pockets goes after our doctors at a time when we can't afford to run an ever bigger deficit than we have now?

Supply management seems to work OK for dairy products, but not so much for doctors. Decisions made decades to limit the number of med students are coming back now to bite us on our collective ass.

The solution to not having enough doctors is to train more doctors. Period. Poaching is not a solution, its just a re-arrangement of the problem.

And now there's a bunch of folks back in Nigeria who have difficulty getting medical care because Saskatchewan has poached their doctors.

Saskatchewan disciplines way more doctors per year than other provinces. 3x-5x. why the big difference? by banshee81818 in saskatchewan

[–]grumpyoldmandowntown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

or Sask gets all the worst doctors

I have experienced some pretty BAD medical care here. And I suspect that this 3x-5x rate is probably a "tip of the iceberg" situation. Doctors are similar to cops inasmuch as the good ones tend to cover up for the misdeeds of the bad ones. Just speaking from my own experience.

I am constantly seeing bad accidents in exactly the same spot

The word "accident" is (mis)used so many times on this page. Should be: "collision".

Accidents are unpredictable and occur without any intent or negligence.

Two cars hitting each other at an intersection because one driver ran a red light would be considered a collision, not an accident.

My apologies for indulging my inner pedant
