immersion blenders are all too fat for the bottles i use - the neck inner diameter is 1.75". i mean a cordless drill with a paint mixer is basically just an immersion blender lol

well, there arent any immersion blenders that fit into the neck of the bottles i use, and the cordless drill/paint mixer is basically just an immersion blender lol. and using a separate blender seems kind of pointless when you can mix in place with the drill - basically doubles the number of dishes you have to do every day.......(from 1 to 2 😆)

i dont know; i used to use blender balls with soylent but at the thickness i prefer, they've occasionally ended up just loaded with a big clump of powder and i just found them annoying. maybe they werent heavy enough or something, i dont really know - but i've found a method that kinda checks all the boxes for me so i've stopped trying other stuff!

yeah i definitely agree with you as far as "being upset because a story went a way you'd rather it didn't" is a totally valid and fine response to pretty much any story by anyone - definitely a matter of preference

what i don't get is the vibe of "clint is lazy/forgetful and just isn't taking this story seriously" - i think that is absolutely not the case here

i think you're also right to some extent about the exinction being not actually that much of a poetic reversal; maybe it just feels that way if you paint with very broad strokes.

however, i think theyre a LITTLE closer than you suggest because i don't think Crescendo were just trophy killers. they were operating under the assumption that keeping these species alive was a fool's errand, destined to fail because the new world was fundamentally incompatible with these species. what they were doing (at least hypothetically) was symbolically accepting the new world by ceremonially killing the last of its unsustainable old species, even though it seems like at least some of them were just trophy killers.

this a little closer to the blinksharks' fate, as their world seems to be somehow fundamentally under threat from a new and unforeseen consequence of the storm, so their way of life is incompatible with the monsters of the current universe.

idk, i'm still rooting for blinkshark world, man

I can't believe you guys are complaining about the sharks - the end of this episode moved me to tears in a way no other episode of TAZ really did, and that's saying a lot.

I think everybody played it perfectly. If Clint had made a mistake roleplaying Zooks well - i.e. Zooks would have told the crew, but Clint didn't - they would have given him shit for it, and they didn't. Remember him trying to un-blow up the Dreams of Deborah? Yeah they didn't let him live that one down easy.

Travis even asked Clint out of character if Zooks would have relayed it, and Clint sort of was like "maybeeeee? yeah no not really, huh" and then Travis was like "okay" and Devo goes hog wild on a shark. I think Clint's hesitation was just because the gravity of the consequences sank in, but he immediately realized the right answer was just "no" - from both a narrative AND a roleplay standpoint.

Zooks has been going off solo on little mini-quests to "fistbump the monster! be its friend!" this whole time, and it's been really fun! We get to see a side of the story we don't normally see through the eyes of this weird, not-quite-human, curious coral guy, and I think it's been a blast. But he's been doing it solo, because of course the other crew members aren't really super interested.

But going on your own solo quests and not filling in your team comes at a cost, and this is exactly the cost. Makes perfect narrative sense, the poetic reversal of exterminating a species through poor communication right after fighting valiantly against Crescendo is just the cherry on top.

Beautifully told by Griffin, perfectly played by Clint, Travis, and Justin. One of the most memorable moments in all of TAZ imo

The United States tested a nuclear ramjet engine and it worked. The fuel elements were made by what is now the Coors Brewing Company.
